View Full Version : fun making zbrush "stuff"
This image is a sampler of what I will be using ZBrush for mostly, which is to make "stuff" for my web site.
In the image you see attached, every object was modeled, textured and rendered in ZBrush. No it's not very complicated stuff but it's helping me to learn ZB while I play.
The rendered objects were removed from the backround in PSP and composited and drop shadowed into this sampler image and a wee bit of lettering added. Even the tiling background and the grass (which I converted to PSP tube format to spray clusters on the image) were made in ZBrush and all of this stuff (and more) was made just this week.
I like quick projects, I don't have time to get bored and my hands don't fail me before I'm done. Folks keep me supplied with ideas for new projects by typing in their graphics requests as search phrases, which I get a list of every month. It's like a lot of little challenges all the time but I only pick the ones I want to take on and I do it at my leisure, which makes it so nice.

A lot of really great objects, showing considerable versatility with ZBrush! I'd really love to know how you did the borders for the broaches. They're remarkable.

The simplicities of the small things! Is wonderful no? You will find that you can make many many cool trinkets for your website. Next stop...try using the deformations pallet commands on your objects combined with masking...you will like it!
Simple maybe, but these items show you have a gift for detail. I particularly appreciate the hoop earrings as you took the time (simple I know) to create the post (of the earring).

'Morning Diana . . . :)
I just wanted to add my 2 cents to this post - you've done a really great job with ZBrush! :D
I also use PSP & Painter 6 in some of my work, but I'm ashamed to admit that I've never thought of using ZBrush to create "Tubes for PSP or images for the Image Hose in Painter". I will definitely have to give it a try, after seeing your creations. ;)
Thank you very much for making this post & sharing your great idea - can't wait to see some more of your work. Have a good one . . . Mark.
I really appreciate the feedback y'all.
aurick, I was playing when I made the brooch and can't duplicate the exact settings today. I know it was made with the spiral3d tool. Turn off the horizontal smoothing, set horizontal bevel to 32ish, initialize with something like these settings:
Coverage 7954
start and end thickness 1
start radius 100, end radius 48
0 for both displacements and twist
Sdivide 128 Ldivide 167
I narrowed the overall width to create the oval shape from the round. I might have done a wee bit of smoothing and inflate on it as well. I had to chop off hanging end(s) in PSP when lifting the objects from the background. I found a whole lot more cool shapes trying to duplicate the brooch when tweaking the initialize settings today, it's like Christmas in that thing.
Mentat7, I painted a mask and used the deformation tool inflate to make those horns but I'm just getting in to that. I wanted an irregular notching look and it turned out more irregular than I planned. ;)
Kathy, I didn't know if anyone would recognize that the hoops were earrings, thanks for the feedback.
Kruzr, sometimes I hate admitting that I do most of my rendering to make tubes, nozzles and web clipart. Some like to look down their noses at me for what I do, but it makes so many folks happy when I share these little creations for them to decorate with and I love making and using them myself.

dr. jjwow, the directional crest was made with the gear3d tool.
Initialize Settings are:

Gear Width=20 Inner Radius=50
Skew=0 Tilt=13
Outer Size=68 Outer Repeat=100
Outer profile, see image.
Inner Height=-100 Inner Repeat=40

Those are some swell objects, it would be really cool if you could put some of them into mentats toolbox, by the way where is your website :qu:
I guess I could put the items I saved in the toolbox if it's ztl files they want. I don't record scripts when doodling.
My web site is Freetubes.com (http://freetubes.com)
Don'nt you just love ZBrush !! great stuff D, keep doodling, we will all benifit.
