I think Zbrush should add a small music player + controls
directly inside Zbrush. People have always been able to
be more creative and expressive while listening to music
we like. I think that fits well with Zbrushs whole attitude.
Zbrush has always focused on being free to express yourself.
I know we can play our tunes on other software but to have
control right inside Zbrush would be awesome. No minimizing
and interrupting work.
Free to imagine & express...

I think this would just be bloatware in the program
alt+tab to your internet radio or iTunes, buy a CD player/stereo,
wear headphones, or better yet - don't listen to anything at all.
Maybe this is something that could be scripted as a ZPlugin that
people could elect to download and install, but I would blanch at
having it bundled in with the program itself.
Music, television, people are all distractions to me personally and
I prefer to work in silence with no interruptions.
That's just me though! :)

a long time ago someone did make a small zscript that played a few wav files but it didn't work too well. also there is the issue that zbrush only allows one zscript to run at a time. then there would be the matter of codecs etc. i use winamp with the classic skin, i have it set to 'always on top" and just keep it very small in the corner of my screen over a area of the zcanvas that i normally don't use. i use that alttab method and have a hotkey on my tablets pen set to skip to the next track.
unlike woody i need music to be playing, sometimes i even have music and a film playing on my tv, i know its crazy but it works for me.

Setting up global hotkeys in Winamp is really easy... I don't have to leave ZBrush at all. I have next & prev track, play/pause, and volume control mapped to the right hand buttons on my Intuous 3. A music player inside ZBrush would seem silly to me.

although why stop at a music player, why not just make a zbrush OS ;)

Lesson 1: Unplug! Take off your headphones! Turn off the radio!.....
Like many artists, I had the habit of listening to classical music or jazz while working. On one of my first visits to Milt Kahl I innocently asked:
"Milt, do you ever listen to classical music while you´re working?"
"Of all the s-s-s-stupid god-god-god-damned questions I-I-I-I´ve never heard! I-I-I-I-never heard such a-a-a-f-f-f-f-stupid question!
Iy-Iy-Iy-Iy-I´m not smart enough to think of more than one thing at a time!"

Or an entire faux midi setup with a pressure velocity mod. And a relative location arpeggiation matrix.

My Winamp hotkeys work beautifully.
