View Full Version : GreenThumb ZScript ???
I have the demo version. So limited is some areas.
I am having trouble with the script, I think because it was most likely written for a different version other then 1.55b.
My problem is there is no picker continuous on my version, and it is used right at the part I wanted to specifically learn (grass with the Fiberbrush).
The script just stops, and then I read the notes after that play, and it says "now it's starting to look like something! Thanks to the Continuous Picker Mode..."
I do not think I will get much out of the script now, but will continue to view the script, it is so beautifully written. And I love the way you are told ahead of time (in sort of like steps) what is about to happen, so you expect it, and then can also concentrate more on what the "definitions" are of what is being chose.
There may have been another problem, but I am not sure, was going to let it run to the end and see. But it has to be a problem, as the trunk of the tree is going thru a rock.
Who ever wrote this ZScript did a very beautiful job. :)
But what can I use instead of Continuous Color (which I do not have)?????
Thanks all.

Frenchy and Svengali, thank you both so much for responding !! I was beginning to think I was invisible LOL
Frenchy, here is the thread that I found the Green Thumb on
... Gee, you cannot drop favorites in here :( Let me try it this way, it may not work
-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=00124
Frenchy if the above does not work, and I have no reason to believe it will, what I just did, and did a check on it, was did a search on grass foliage vegetation, selected any of these words, and put Aurick's number down as a selection criteria (he wrote it) 348
Please let me know how it goes on your demo. Do you have the 1.55b demo? I have been through so many threads, and ppl say demo now, I am not sure what demo they are talking about LOL.
Thank you Svengali, I looked and looked for a button that did the same thing, and I knew it was there, I just could not find it. So I will try the tutorial with that button, altho I am not sure that it will work, as I do not remember if the button in the tutorial was red or green. You did not have to press the green ones, but you do have to press the red ones in the order that they appear. But I will give it a try. :)
I want to lay a sloppy kiss on both of your heads :) :P
Many blessings

I know which one you are talking about. It was probably the first ZScript I ever ran. But I don't yet know where to find it.
When I get home tonight, maybe I can find it and look at it.
Frenchy, if you key
www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=00124 (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=00124)
key this if it is not a link now, it will get you to where I am talking about, I just did it.
Many blessings all, and have a fantastic day :)
Hmm, the link does not take you anywhere, and now when I key it in manually, it gives me nothing?
Hoping someone will enlighten me on how to add links to these replies.
Frenchy, I just did it again...this is exactly what I did
I searched on Grass Hair Furryness
with Registered member 348, and had the top button chose.
Got one match.
Clicked on that, and it took me to a thread of a person looking for that. The topic was called Grass/Hair and Furryness.
Inside this thread Aurick provides a link called Green Thumb Tutorial. I clicked on that (left click as I wanted to download it).
That is how I am now specifically showing you how to get there, and I sure hope it works for you my friend
Good Luck
You can also find it under QuickLinks,Zscripts, and then Vegetation
Thank you Frenchy :)
Thank ALL of you :)
Aw, Gee I am a dummy. I left out a number on the link, and that is why it did not work. Here is the link:

I believe this is the thread you wanted to show, Vegetation Tutorial (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001244).
The problem you encountered is again due to following a 1.23b tutorial while using the 1.55b demo. Unfortunately there are a couple of things that have changed since then and you have stumbled upon two of them(the other being the Symmetry options). The tutorial is still valid using 1.55b but you will have to locate some things yourself, or ask around.
If you are curious as to why it does not work when you press the green button to locate the Continuous Color picker then here is the reason:
Zscript button name/path for the Continuous Color button in 1.23b:
PICKER:CONTINUOUS
Zscript button name/path for the Continuous Color button in 1.55b:
Picker:Cont Col
When zbrush parses the Zscript in 1.55b it can't find the button named PICKER:CONTINUOUS (all caps does not mean anything).
Here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000054)is a list of things you can't do with the demo. Combining multiple meshes using markers should also be on that list I think (or "make polymesh" as it is called).
Oh and as Stonecutter gently pointed out to me in your earlier post, welcome aboard :) :tu:
Frenchy thank you for the vegetation Tips, if you are not careful, I will end up giving you a naked swamp hug :) :P
TVeyes, thank you so much. I figured it had to do with the different versions, but I also figured that I would be able to still learn from it. Afterall, there are just changes to the program to enhance it. The basics that was there in earlier versions are still there just under different names.
As far as the limitations of the demo, I understand them completely. But being a demo person, I do wish that I could show you some of my work sometimes, since no one but me sees them...but more importantly, I do wish I could record them, and send that to the forum, so when I am making a mistake, someone could see it and let me know what I am doing wrong.
The other thing is that I will be purchasing this program, but as I have said earlier, I want to be able to do certain things first before I buy it. And as I have seen recently on threads, this is a bargain compared to other software that cannot do as much as ZBrush can. One other thing. I wish I could create something in longer then one sitting. I do not really like that time frame, and I dare not keep my computer on all the time, as I am not sure as to what would happen if I did this a lot. My computer gets hot, that I have had to add another fan to it.
And of all things, today I said to myself that I was not going to come into this forum because I end up looking at everything, and I am very greedy :) But at the same time, I know I would never buy this program without this forum, because it is very close to a family for me.
TVeyes, thank you for the welcome, you did not have to say it, you have helped me in the past, and action always speak louder then words. :)
Frenchy, you have always helped me in the past too. :)
...believe me I Wuv Ya All :)
Now as a side thought, which probablly be in another Thread, I got to thinking how one person made a Material or texture by scanning a leaf, and one had scanned Ham in a plastic bag. That got me to thinking last night about a lot of alternatives.
I have the scanner, but I do not have the way to give them to you.
But I was thinking of scanning cinnamon and sugar in a plastic bag. I think Jello would be cool, and messy (and wonder if it would retain the great light reflection it has in real life?) Tapioca Pudding, green texture could be gotten from some spices that are not ground up. These are probablly not good ideas, but I have no way of really knowing.
Well, I am getting incoherent now, so I guess I am going to lay a sloppy kiss on all ZBrushers heads now :)
Many Blessings

Hi Kitty
With all that you can now make a mangrove creature :D
Pilou
I have seen some people get very cool results from scanning real world gooey material into their computers. A dried up duck wing, a blood stained piece of cloth, bags of sugar(?). Just experiment with it but make sure whatever bag you use is airtight, especially if you do the Chicken Vindaloo scan ;)
There was a homepage around at one time that delved specifically into this wonderful art of messing up your computer equipment but I can't remember where sorry. Basically you need to have just the right amount of backlighting, so all depending on if it is a bag of vindaloo or a bag of sugar you need to be able to adjust the amount of light that comes from the opposite side of the scanning surface. You don't need to get it 100% right. Most scans can be corrected/enhanced with photoshop/paint shop pro(or any other photo edit software). And you can even get acceptable scans without backlighting.
Ps. Chicken vindaloo HAS to have backlighting to be fully appreciated after a scan :)
