I breeze through these forums and see amazing lips, and mouths, and mine come out horrible. Can anyone be kind enough to make up a little tutorial?

Thanx,
Chad

Hi Chad, :)
Here are a link that might help:
Lips Info (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000843).
Hope this helps! :)

Hi Chad,

I like to model lips, so your question caught my eye. I've never posted a zscript before so here goes. Lips Demo.txt (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1001293257ywp.txt) Someone mentioned recently about holding the alt key down while in draw mode. This is a great shortcut which changes zadd to zsub and keeps your modeling session flowing smoothly.

Modeling an open mouth is a little trickier. If this zscript helps you then maybe I will try an open one also. ;)

ok i didn't do it with this pic but i just was showing off some lips LOL.
ok here's a GOOOOOD little TIP on make lips and trust me it works good.
lets say your moveing your curser and making the upper lip well most people keep going over it to make it larger then some times they can't put there curser back in the right postion each time and it gets a bit out of shape.
Soooooo draw your upper lip in 1 swipe.
now hold down your CTRL key and hit the number 1 and keep hitting 1 till your happy with the size what this does is it go's over the SAME area were you traced ONCE and it wont be off set..
and all ways start with your model size HUGE so you can see every detail and when your done put it to the size you like and adjust the Smooth ness on it.
good txt script there Zoid

chad, i am to busy to make a tut for you. if you are familiar with the program then i can do a basic explanation...

the easiest for me is to draw a mask of the lips,(ctrl edit draw mode---cursor turns yellow)in be sure to mask the crease between upper and lower lips!!! it is very hard i find to carve deep creases afterwards. i strongly recommend using the symmetry function with mirror turned on...saves time.

deformation: divide 2x
remask the extraneous bits
deformation:inflate
deformation:smooth 5x
clear mask
deformation:smooth 3x

no refine the lips up in draw mode to your liking...at this point practice makes perfect

Hello Chad and everyone else,

I'm so glad that my script worked and that you find it useful. I really enjoy participating in this forum but other things in life tend to get in the way sometimes. I am wondering if anyone else had the same trouble with recording scripts that I had. When I first tried to play back scripts that I recorded, all I would get was a black screen with the red cursor dancing around on it. Then I went to preferences and disabled the "autorecord" button and saved this new configuration. Now when I manually "start" and "end" the scripting sessions they come out fine.

After I posted my message, I realised that I had mentioned open mouth modeling like I was some kind of expert. I started modeling some more and came up with this big grinner. I'm no expert, but I know I had a lot of fun doing it. I hope other people will post their modeling sessions also :) http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads0/user_image-1001380419hcq.jpg
