ZBrush 3.5 R3 Windows is a free upgrade to all registered Windows users.

ZBrush 3.5 R3 is now available for download! Please see the following for details:

Your ZBrush 3.5 serial number will not change, nor will you be setting up a new Cleverbridge or Support account. This update simply replaces the downloadable file that is associated with your account.
If you have a CURRENT download link from Cleverbridge, clicking that link will now deliver the R3 version automatically. You can begin downloading immediately. The download link is in the same email that contains your serial number for version 3.5.
If your download link from Cleverbridge has expired, you will need to wait for them to send you a new link. Due to server capacity, they cannot send these links to everyone simultaneously. It may take a few days to get all the links sent out. Please do not contact Support to request that your download link be renewed.
The upgrade emails will be sent to the address that is on record from your purchase of or upgrade to ZBrush 3.5. In other words, the same email address that your ZBrush 3.5 serial number was sent to. Please be sure to keep an eye on your spam filter or junk mail folder, as we know from experience that some of those can prevent the email from reaching your inbox. Only contact Support if you have not received the upgrade by Monday, November 30.

If you are a PC user who has not yet upgraded to version 3.5, please go to https://support.pixologic.com (https://support.pixologic.com/). Register on the Support site, then create a ticket in the Upgrade category. Be sure to include as much info as you can concerning your ZBrush license purchase so that we can locate your account and upgrade you as quickly as possible.

Note for Mac users: Now that ZBrush 3.5 has been finalized for the PC, we will continue updating ZBrush for the Mac OS X platform.

:::::: Documentation for ZBrush 3.5 is now available online in the ZBrush Wiki (http://www.pixologic.com/docs). Also, if you do a Default installation of R3 you will find a New Features PDF as well as a Tutorials PDF to get you started.

Questions and Troubleshooting for ZBrush 3.5 should be posted in the Q&T forum (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=74992)

Finally! Now I can export out my models into x normal! I hope the vista problem has been resolved, where you had to enter the program as an admin, or face the program hanging up on you indefintely.

Also can you reset skeletons from a pose without having to rebind it?

Yes PIXO! Where's the Mac version!!??

I think all of us Mac folks have been WAY MORE than a little bit patient with your constant promises. I've been keeping my mouth shut, and waiting very, very patiently, and even extolling the virtues of ZBrush, and Pixo's 'seeming' new and better treatment of the Mac community - but it seems I have been proven wrong once again.

'Windows, Windows, Windows' is ALL we're seeing. Where's the Mac v3.5?? And if you're NOT going to 'get around to it', just SAY SO, so we can all move on.

Enough is enough. We'd like AT LEAST a little freakin' communication!!!!!!
Comprendé?? Savvy??

And, after seeing yet another Windows release, I've just emailed info@pixologic.com too.

I'd like an answer. Yesterday!

Is R3 working with older CPU's now without SSE2? Or is it not possible to make the new Zbrush 3.5 run on older systems too?

Morbius
11-23-09, 06:41 PM
And you know, it would be nice if all of you Windows folks would rally together with us Mac folks, and demand an answer from Pixo!

How would YOU feel if all you ever saw was Mac updates!? We're all ZBrush users here, and we SHOULD support each other!

Everyone should be bombarding Pixo, and asking for a reply! ANY COMMUNICATIONS for us Mac folks would be nice. We've been promised over and over again, 'it's coming, it's coming' for months and months, and still no updates, or even the smallest little communication about when it's coming!

Write them:

info@pixologic.com

or the COO, Jaime LaBelle

jaime@pixologic.com

or Public Relations

pr@pixologic.com

Everyone PLEASE join together, and email these people! All we're asking for is a little communication. When is v3.5 for Mac coming??

Rally together folks!!

Morbius
11-23-09, 06:46 PM
And they ARE watching this forum!

I intend to keep posting here until I get AN ANSWER from Pixo.

Tomorrow morning, I"m going to start CALLING on the PHONE until I get an answer from someone at Pixo.

I'll make it easy for ya! Here's their phone number:

1-888-748-5967 Toll Free!!

All Mac folks - and anyone else that cares - call them!!

Join me, people. Let's get an answer!

This note on the bottom of the R3 for Windows announcement in this thread:

"Note for Mac users: Now that ZBrush 3.5 has been finalized, we will continue updating ZBrush for the Mac OS X platform."

It has???? Then where is it????

Continue updating?? You haven't updated ANYTHING for the Mac since 3.2!!

If 3.5 has been 'finalized', why don't we have it?

bicc39
11-23-09, 06:56 PM
Since the most recent version has not worked since the day is was introduced, pardon my nonclicking of heels.
Will not install until zbrush 4 ( if it were not for the Maya plugin would
not even care about that.)
Best of luck to the rest of you (sincerely)

Morbius
11-23-09, 07:02 PM
Sorry to hear that, bicc39!

ZBrush4?? Good luck. We can't even get 3.5! We'll colonize Mars before Pixo ever releases v4!

Wouldn't be so bad if they'd just communicate and let us know what's going on, but 'certain' people at Pixo are just as haughty and arrogant as ever, as I've said on occasions before.

They know they have the #1 3D sculpting software in the world, and to hell with the customer, we'll do as we please.

It's pure arrogance. All this chest-thumping about "v3.5 and v4 will be a free update to all registered users" is just a bunch of showmanship. 'Look how generous we are to you!"

Sounds good on the forum, but it doesn't mean a damned thing if they don't release the software! Mac folks were promised 3.5 MONTHS ago, and still all we ever see is Windows updates! 3 OF THEM, and still no 3.5 for Mac.

"Since the most recent version has not worked since the day is was introduced..."

Really? I can't NOT get my ZBrush 3.5 version to work perfectly! It's been awesome so far and now with this Release 3....get ready to quote me Pixologic....

Morbius
11-23-09, 07:30 PM
Congratulations, guys! I'm glad everything is going well for you!! :D Obviously, Windows users....

You wouldn't be so happy if you were on a Mac, waiting for months without ANY updates, and without even a single reply to the many Mac people who have asked a simple question, and been ignored, over and over again....

All they would have to say is 'Sorry Mac folks, but we've hit some snags, and it'll be a couple months before we get 3.5 out'. But they don't. They don't, and WON'T say ANYTHING.

You think Pixo rocks? Good for you. ZBrush rocks. Pixo, and their idea of 'customer service', is very, very poor; and rocketh not.

Oooohhh, looking good!

Liking the new list of brush controls! Don't you know I just spent hours clicking and dragging scales individually on a project last month!

Polish brush looks sick, the new feature list is packed, and the pen tools look perfect for an old airbrush artist like me! I could tell they could paint contrasting light against dark in a single stroke, which is a really cool idea!

Keep up the good work guys! :tu:  :tu:

p.s. - I saw "added brush control for faster or slower sampling"
I assume that regarding brush spacing as well, right? :D

I really don't understand? What ever happened to the idea that they were working on a long time ago. The one that would allow them to release updates to both Windows and Mac users? Has this been discarded? WTF? When will they learn to to what they say they'll do. Damn it. Why don't they charge for an update on occasion if it would help development out.

Jon DP
11-23-09, 07:57 PM
I think it has. My understanding is that from here on out. They do Windows first and then Mac second as normal procedure. I wonder if I transfer my license to windows :(

Beats the heck outta me, 3dj!

They've released 3 revisions to 3.5 for Windows now, and still haven't even got 3.5 for Mac out yet.

The Mac community has been too quiet and passive, and they're just ignoring us, as usual....

Yes, Jon, that's what I understood as well, but....

They haven't even released 3.5 for Mac yet, and continue to release Windows updates in the meantime! What's with that!!??

I have that same feeling. We can still get the results that GoZ would offer, just slower. But if it's all the same, I bought a second monitor just in anticipation for GoZ, that was back in august....

Also... can you please tell us if this Boolean option will retain all sub-D levels? Seam a perfect way to sculpt and then for creating game meshes that need to be single objects... just Boolean all together... but the images and the demo in the video do not seam to say anything about retaining low sub-d levels.... dose the new ZLT have them after the Boolean operation?

While that's kind of a cool idea so you can see it like the video shows, you won't need it really. When you GoZ, it switches to the desired app automatically. A second display comes in handy for way more things than having an inactive software just sitting there. You'll likely find yourself using it for movies, internet, reference images, etc. instead ;)

Don't be jealous, though, look at all the new stuff you got!!! There's nothing GoZ does for you that you can't do on your own. It just does it really fast! I'm the one who's jealous!!!

Honestly though, I'm thrilled to see the software advancing like this. Gettin' spicier each time :tu:

hmmm still no GoZ?? that's too bad... That I have extreme respect for Zbrush and I like the new feature it's bringing to their fans, I'm still hoping for GoZ... I would even say I would exchange these features for GoZ first. I am however going to remain skeptical about the new features till I actually get to try it. I've gotten my hopes up before :(

Some really good features here, but being mac user and no 3.5 is leaving us mac users way behind on the learning curve again!! what with ZSpheres II and all of the new brushes and tools it will be a "LOT" of work to have to learn it all at once but I suppose we won't see anything until January or February now. What happened to the promise that Pixologic would release Windows and Mac versions at the same time!

11-23-09, 09:38 PM
This is exactly how Pixo should do releases. Not say a word then surprise us. Instead of giving us deadlines and constantly delaying it.

Depends on your point of view, I suppose. For Mac users, it's exactly the opposite. All they do is talk about releases and then delay — except for those times when they become eerily silent on the matter for long periods (like now, for instance). It would be different if the Mac version cost less. But for the same original investment, we see 3.5r1 and 3.5r2 come and go; these will never be Mac releases. We now have 3.5r3, and who knows if that'll be for Mac. Sure isn't now. Even if it comes to the Mac, the Windows users get 3 releases to the Mac's 1. And that's assuming it comes to the Mac at all.

Thanks for all of this but despite the greatness of the upcoming r3, i'd like to know if the list of quirks have been resolved in this upcoming release. In 3.1 it was the quick menu popup freeze, which thankfully was fixed in 3.5 r2, but now a new quirk just as common and predictable to happen is the use of the lazy mouse brush. I can't stress enough how much work i've lost due using the lazy mouse feature. I am now scared of using such a useful tool.

Asides from this, i'd like to know if these have been addressed as well:

- deleting part of mesh rids all layers and you lose a tad bit of detail, disables adding a layer.
- subdividing part of mesh rids all layers, disables adding layers.
- equalize surface area rids all layers, disables adding layers
- reimporting mesh onto new lv1 with new polygrouping or making model assymetrical may malfunction smartresym tools(like causing the resymmetry on the otherside to ruin and blow up some vertices out of the mesh).
- using insertmesh on subtool disables reconstruct subd
- auto recovery doesn't save accessible files under the folder. ticking it on slows down performance of zbrush.

And here I thought that they had been working on the Mac version of 3.5 all this time. And I remember long ago that the mac was promised it first. I wish they would at least make a patch for the new zspheres for the mac.

So I guess it will be another few months wait to finally be told that version 4 is out for windows and the mac version will be following shortly. lol

Plug-ins at last! This is all great news and quite a surprise... Is there going to be any documentation released with R3? Brief summary of all the new features maybe something like what you had with 3.1. That would help... in exploring all of the new features... this is really great.

Thanks again guys -

Instead of 3.5 for the mac I can settle with Zapplink for mac.

Nice to get new features, but I find it surprising that so much effort is being spent on new sculpting brushes. I mean, if there's anything ZBrush has plenty of, it's sculpting brushes (yeah, for mechanical stuff it was lacking, but not THAT much). What about more useful stuff for real world production like texture layers?

It appears I'm not the only one who would gladly swap all of these new features for GoZ. Was hugely disappointed not to see it make an appearance in this release.

Still, always good to get a free update. Cheers Pixo!

But when will we have the brush size kept relative to the model instead of canvas?

The new version of the Adjust DrawSize plugin included with R3 has the ability to store and recall brush size relative to the model.

Briliant super awesome!... but what's happened to unified releases?!

Also with the addition of ZApplink3, does that mean proper layered texture painting from within ZBrush isn't on the horizon?

It's all great great news but can Poly Groups be used to retopologize? If I could dial up and down the mesh density in the poly groups it would rock!

It would need some amount of fall off for extreme density changes.

Retopo would be lightning fast and perfect.

Amazing stuff !
About Mac, I think they will work on it. Just, it seems they can't release both Mac and PC versions at the very same time...even if mac is better supported by many 3D apps now, i think PC is still privileged to make 3D, not only from Pixologic.

It's well known that OSx is harder to develop for due to Apples drastic changes with their OS's and remember you guys have the feature that most people want most, GoZ. I personally can wait for GoZ, but considering that most people don't have R3 yet, there's nothing we can do BUT wait.

If you have a Windows ZB license, sure! Provided you have an Intel Mac (most Mac users these days) and a copy of a Windows OS. I suspect the number of people with all three is vanishingly small though.

I feel mac users' pain, but I also don't think they've been missing all that much yet. I personally still use 3.1 because of all the bugs and horribly implemented new features in 3.5, not to mention the myriad missing features that are only now being added (still can't see zmapper or equivalent goz gimmick). Lets hope this one is a bit better, and that they would start living up to their promises soon.

11-24-09, 06:40 AM
Actually unless you want to buy a 2nd Win license of Zbrush on top of your Mac one Pixologic is not doing what they did with 3.1. Giving the mac users temp windows installs to run in the time being on their intel macs. I had to explicitly choose OSX by support when I was initially getting the WIN download links for 3.5 back in September, or surrender my mac license. At the time I had hoped that meant the wait would be short.

To be fair, 3.2 (osx) I think was a more solid release than 3.5 r1, and r2. With R3 3.5 is now production ready.

holto
11-24-09, 06:48 AM
I love my zBrush, and I really want these new features, but this really doesn't surprise me at this point with the Mac version.

The thing that kinda irks me the most is how they parlayed all the blame on 3 being so late was that they were redoing it in a way so that from now on there could be SIMULTANEOUS WINDOWS AND MAC RELEASES.

SO much for that. Guess I'll get it sometime next fall. We won't see 3.5 I'm pretty sure at this point. 4 will more than likely release for windows in late december early january and then there will be a whole new round of reasons the mac version isn't out yet.

I truly appreciate the upgrades and such being free pixo, but jesus I'd pay you a 50 dollar upgrade fee just to have them released ANYWHERE near the stated timeframes.

Coming from a traditional sculpting background I"m pretty excited about zSpheres2 and the hard surface modeling.

Mac users will not be getting temporary windows licenses for 3.5 as we did with 3.1. We would have to buy a windows license.

That said, I agree that 3.2 has been production ready and rock solid for quite some time now. Meanwhile, I've heard so many windows users say they are using 3.1 in production instead, whether it be due to bugs or missing features in 3.5. That's been for months. So I think this was a necessary release for windows, even though I'm green with envy for these new features! At least we will all have something more powerful than 3.1 that is fully usable in real production. I'm sure bouncing around between versions has been a pain since the ztl's aren't backward compatible.

Now THAT said, screw the holiday, forget your families, I want you ALL workin' around the clock until I have my fully featured mac v3.5 or v4 up and running! Then, of course, you may sleep. Except for aurick, paul, and marcus, they have to answer my dumb questions. Hope you all like coffee.

This is really amazing stuff. As stated by others, the amount of new things to use or try is overwhelming, but sincerely appreciated. I'm thinking that the need for several full time Pixologic instructors will needed just to keep us users in the flow. The prospect of having all of the 3.1 plugins will be a god send.
Again thanks for all of your hard work and inspiration,

My only issue: The Mac version is quite overdue now, and knowing that you worked on that release the last weeks it looks like we may not even get it for christmas.

I love ZBrush, I use it constantly and even spend down-time just fooling around in it.
BUT...
Having been in charge of a small software development team I can say with some certainty that Pixologic has a piss poor development cycle and is badly in need of new managers.

They should have loooong ago switched to a cross-platform development environment. This game of leap frog they are playing is foolish in todays software dev circles. There is no excuse for it... years are passing between software cycle revs and all it does is make them look stupid to one side of their user base or the other.

Also this issue with transparency is ludicrous. Get your house in order, lay out a dev cycle and get it finished as close to on time as possible. And if things are falling behind... TELL US.

This happy horse**** of surprise release is assinine. If there were a clear track record of stable, regular releases it would be one thing, but to deal with things as they have been done is quite another.

From the R3 Page:
"Note for Mac users: Now that ZBrush 3.5 has been finalized, we will continue updating ZBrush for the Mac OS X platform."

What do you think that says to a Mac user?

The rate at which 3DCoat is being updated (daily) has to send a bit of fear into the mind of Pixologic and they are working harder now that 3DCoat is virtually reinventing 3D sculpting on a daily basis. :) I have both 3DCoat and ZBrush and they both rock in very different ways. :)

I think alot of Mac users are unhappy to say the least. Seriously guys, if you look at other software producers, which also produce dual platform products, such as Adobe their releases are never this out of kilter. Im sorry if Pixologic doesn't want to hear the criticism, but it's not coming out of malice, just simple observation. And, I don't want to hear any excuses about Adobe being a monster company with infinite resources. The bottom line is Pixologic is producing dual platform software...period. Still no Mac version? What gives? Look, i'd be less upset about all of this if they would just release both platforms at the same time. Why is this such an issue for Pixologic? I can't think of any other DCC vendor out there that makes the other platform wait so freaking long for a current build.

Either change your licensing policy so my single purchase entitles me to both platforms, or release your gear on both platforms on the same friggin' day. It's 2009 for crying out loud.

My workflow is primarily on OSX: CS4, C4D, Modo, and since I already bought an OSX license of zB, it would be nice to use the latest tools with my specific workflow. If i had dual platform license, it wouldn't be an issue.

I like Luxology's approach of licensing the software to the user, not the hardware. This allows me to install modo on any computer, mac or pc. I think they're pioneering how software licensing should be across the board.

Just thought I'd mention it, as it would prevent this type of frustration (somewhat).

I wonder how much $$$ you paid to get your mac with 12 GB of ram. Probably DOUBLE what it costs for the PC equivalent. I agree with asuke about buying a PC. Not to mention how much easier it is to customize your PC's hardware.

I was once a Mac guy but once I built my first PC for a fraction of a mac AND got better performance, I will never go back. However, I don't bash Mac's and throw out sarcasm because I think my PC is superior.

The bottom line is Pixologic is producing dual platform software...period. If your expecting Mac user's to pay the same amount then you should be offering the same product at the same time.
I see no reason why the same application should cost less when it is released for mac a few months later. It is the same application right? It did cost money to produce, and took time to develop.

The delay is simply due to priorities, and people should be happy this application is even dual platform. Many Zbrush users are in game development and well.... Mac's are not for gamers.

If your expecting Mac user's to pay the same amount then you should be offering the same product at the same time.I would guess that the 3.5 release was somewhat unexpected hence the 3 releases of it. I gathered that zbrush go would not be in any releases of Z3.5 considering it was suppose to be a feature of Z4 from the beginning as all these features were originally. Im running a pc and i would really like GoZ and I know there are a lot of Mac owners out there that would want these features pronto as well. I kinda feel like I am defending both sides here but here are some points that do stand out:

1. They did promise GoZ for Z4 but I must of missed something for them stating it would be in Z3.5

2. Its a shame that the versions dont equal each other on the dual platforms and that is something that needs to be equaled for best practice even though i know there is a lot of work that go into both.

3. They really need to have more places teaching their software. (This is probly just my opinoin coming out but I live no where near the schools that do teach it and it sucks. Yeah I know Im whinning.)

4. They should at least get the dates figured out for when things will be released. Committing to a date and then releasing it weeks later is very disappointing . ---This point is rather shallow however, the demand for this app is growing and the community needs something that is reliable. (I took a mini vacation from work for the release of 3.5 and missed it because it came out a week late which was very upsetting.)

All in all I am very excited to try this version out and I tip my hat in every regard for the tools that are being developed and given especally for free to registered users. These points are my opinoins really so take them with a grain of salt since i dont know everything that goes into developing software. I am excited about all the new features and cant wait to get GoZ so only time will tell!

I like Luxology's approach of licensing the software to the user, not the hardware. This allows me to install modo on any computer, mac or pc. I think they're pioneering how software licensing should be across the board.

Just thought I'd mention it, as it would prevent this type of frustration (somewhat).

Yep...I concur...
:tu:

BTW: The update looks tremendous, so naturally you understand my frustration. :p

I wonder how much $$$ you paid to get your mac with 12 GB of ram. Probably DOUBLE what it costs for the PC equivalent. I agree with asuke about buying a PC. Not to mention how much easier it is to customize your PC's hardware.
Can't answer for him, and I surely don't have that much ram.
but personally, switching to PC after 14 years of only using a mac is not something I'd even consider. Regardless of the fact that I've disliked PC's every time I've used them, I have thousands of dollars of software that runs on macs. If I were to switch, I'd have to repurchase my Adobe CS suites and tons of other stuff. And then, since I work in the print industry, I'd have serious issues when bringing work to print. I submit ads to dozens of different magazines and printing houses. 95% of them want things in macintosh format, and only in the last few years have the new PDF workflows made it easier for them to accept PC output.

Zbrush is, in their own words, aiming for artists, not specifically game developers. This was clearly much more an "illustration" program in it's initial inception. It's no secret that artists in all other mediums besides 3D CGI have traditionally gravitated towards the macintosh platform. If Pixologic is going to find artists who aren't merely steeped in the gaming world, they're going to have to keep consistant with mac versions.

I contacted Pixologic about the upcoming mac version, and they said "first we have to finalize Windows 3.5, then we finish the mac version" and that was about 2 weeks ago, and here we find them finalizing the Win3.5, and stating:

Note for Mac users: Now that ZBrush 3.5 has been finalized, we will continue updating ZBrush for the Mac OS X platform.
So I'm just gonna take Pixolator's word for it and not complain.

All that said, I agree with the comment about licensing to the buyer, not the platform. I'm not sure how practical that is from their standpoint though.

The whole free update thing is a nice gesture, but I would rather pay some cash for an update if it meant both OSX and Windows could be updated at the same time with the same features.

Mac users should not be expected to run bootcamp or have to wait for releases just as Windows users should not have to wait for features like GoZ.

How many people use zBrush? 1000? 10,000?
Even of they charged only $50 for an update I am sure that would add up to more than enough cash to pay an extra developer or twos salary and stil have money in the bank.

pixologic, i think i love you... ;)

edit: wtf? 10.000 people?? i think today there are MUCH more using zbrush legally! in the whole world i think there are far more than 100.000 people using ZBrush.

by the way. i think this discussion every time when pixo releases an update is stupid. just lay back and enjoy that there IS something like zbrush.
so, i just speak for me... but

"Cleverbridge will be renewing download links and sending them to the email addresses on record for all users who have previously upgraded to or purchased ZBrush 3.5"

It is to be released today but that does not guarantee that everybody will get their emails today just like with the initial 3.5 release it might take a few days and keep in mind that Thursday is Thanksgiving in the US sooo....

About twelve hours ago, announcement made update available 11-24.
New post ( in header) says not now, don't bother us.

If you can't get it right in twelve hours.....

Please Note: ZBrush 3.5 R3 is not yet available for download! We will update this announcement as soon as it has been released. Please do not contact Support inquiring about availability. Thanks!

So, gentlemen, it would seem that I have been 'banned' from posting here, merely because I was on a rant, and asking Pixo for some information re: the Mac version.

Instead of an answer for any of us Mac folks, they've simply 'quieted' me by making my posts visible to only me, and only when I'm logged in.

Isn't that interesting? I'm just a troublemaker, and not allowed to ask a simple question. And then they wonder why the Mac Community gets angry.

Of course, I'm posting this, and no one will be able to see it - EXCEPT them, and me.

Glad to see this release. I am rather perplexed by the announcement without the ability to download.

Either way, I can wait. I can still do everything I need to do with 3.12 (And that is A LOT!!!)

The lack of plug in support for 3.5 has been keeping me from moving my projects to the new version, so this release would have been great for me if the plug in support was the only new addition. Now I will have all sorts of new toys to play with. I just hope they come before turkey day!

Mmmm, turkey, mash tators, stuffing and a big helping of R3! Now that is a thanksgiving to be thankful for!

Pix crew, you guys rock and never cease to amaze me! Big thanks to you all for your hard work.

I think all artists are kind of impatient and childish, so when a very impressive piece of software is presented in front of our eyes (eyes that have a very much wider sight than normal eyes), our imagination starts to create virtual images and models that we want to give birth to, and if these marvelous tools are not still ready to be grabbed with our trembling hand and stillo, we can fall in a deep depression. We should wait fighting our creative demons and focusing this power over ZB 3.2 that has still lots of juice to give. Ouch! a demon has just pecked me with his trident...Please tell us when, Dime cuando, cuando cuando...

I think the main problem is that the communication from pixologic in the past regarding release dates for the mac has been atrocious. Declared dates have come and gone by months without any indication beforehand that the date wouldn't be met. They then said release dates for mac and pc would be the same, with owners expecting this to be for 3.5. This didn't happen and then the dates for 3.5 for mac came and went and now a bland generic statement in giving no confidence that mac users won't be screwed again. Maybe we won't get 3.5 but just wait for later next year for version 4. Who knows, it wouldn't surprise some users here.
Having gone to 3 release candidates for the windows version it seems they were too early releasing it given the number of apparent bugs people have complained about.
They just have to be clear and open in communicating things. Something they are gradually improving but still nowhere near ideal.
