‘Evening all . . . :)
I'd like to post some more, very interesting information on the "PolyMesh" tool. At least I found it very interesting, & some what baffling to me.
While experimenting with it some more early this morning, I discovered a few more +'S about it. :)
If you use the procedure I explained in another post, http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001668 & once you have loaded it on the screen, you then have complete control over every Material or Texture that you applied to the separate objects that were created before converting to a "PolyMesh" object. :)
Example: You draw an object on the screen, select the Color & Material of your choice, then place a Marker for that object. Now repeat this procedure 3 or 4 times with newly created objects. Once you've finished creating all the objects you want for now, use the "MultiMarker" to bring all the objects together to form one object. Now you can convert the "MultiMarker" object into a "PolyMesh" object, using my previous instructions in my other post, then save it & close Zbrush.
Now comes the interesting part? When you created the "PolyMesh" object, it created a Texture for you, & if you followed my instructions, you used the "TXR>COL" to color all the polygons with the Texture coloring, before saving the "PolyMesh" object. Now if you load that saved "PolyMesh" object, draw it on the screen, then select "Material / Show Used", it will show all the Materials that you used on each object, BEFORE using the "MultiMarker" & converting it to a "PolyMesh" object. Not only that, you can now edit each separate Material on the "PolyMesh" object, as if you have just created it. :)
I don't know if any of you already knew this or not, but I didn't. What's so puzzling, is the Textures & Colors on the "PolyMesh" object, were created by using the "TEX>COL" tool, to color all the polygons of the "PolyMesh" object before saving it, so you would think that the polygon colors of the object would be permanent, instead of being an editable Material. Very Interesting!!!
Anyway, I don't know if anyone is interested in this or not, but I thought that there might be some that would enjoy reading this. I find it extremely useful & powerful, as well as puzzling!!! Have a good one . . . Mark.
PS: ( Go ahead & give it a try, it won't bite. )
