Hello. This is a landscape render!, its actually only in Preview mode tho..I didn't like the way the fog came out in best render mode. Originally I was just messing around with fog settings but got a little carried away ;).

I hope its not too dark for you with PCs, either way I think you have to look at it for a few seconds for the colors to sink in.

Im planning to add a herd of deer (or something similar) fleeing in terror, if I get the time of course =/.

Hopefully I'll have the render settings figured out for the next landscape ;).

Oh crap, I'll see if i can buff the light up then...Wouldn't the world be a much better place if we all used Macs? ;).

I checked it on a friends PC and the colors didn't look too off.

I should say that the image is pretty dark and fuzzy even on the Mac ;), should look "kinda" like a deep underwater scene.

While it does have that "underwater fuzziness", I think it may be neccesary to let some things show more clearly. It looks cool though, so keep working at it!! :)

(BTW, I'm on a PC too, if it matters...)

I think the fog is too much uniform
It kill the DoF and perspective..

Aye, after I finished the scene I too felt like the fog might have been a little too much. Its too late to change on this piece but..another lesson learned for the next landscape ;).

Thanks for the tips :tu:

I agree with Muvlo's comments about a having a bit more selective clarity and sharpness about key elements, but it's not too dark on my PC. Not sure I agree with your tongue-in-cheek comment about Macs, but it sure would help if we all had similarly calibrated monitors. I suspect a lot of people just leave it at the factory setting. I think the ambient light also has a major effect. I always work in a darkened room which I think gives the best viewing experience.

Sure Flycatcher, it was more of a joke than making a statement tho ;).

Usually one (or atleast I) does not have to think about this, other when sending to print of course. But whenever something thats dark is done it easily seems to get too dark when its sent over to a friend on a PC. Im no expert, but I suspect the Mac's gamma is simply lower by default.
