Here's an update , I still have to figure out how to fix the mess near his neck.
And I also need to make a 3d model for his teeth. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1035192216dvi.jpg

After seeing the wings Mentat and fouad B made , I added wings to my character :)

This is an incredible image Namek! :tu: :tu: I don't know wether to blame it on the modeling, materials, texturing, rendering, or some combination, but the whole thing looks great! :)

Added a bit , not much.
I still have to make his teeth , nails , cracks in the stone texture. And something to hold the chain.

very nice.. and awesome detail..
this is a really professional looking piece. The texturing and esp the lighting are fantastic the only critisism i would give is that the wings look attached to the neck and not the body, I don't know if the wings are suppoosed to be there or not, if so just ignore my babbling. I'd reall like to know a bit about ther lighting, it looks great because its really dramatic but there is a good deal of visibility on the figure
Great looking winged beastie Namek! :) :tu: :tu: :tu:

Coming along really nicely. Try using a ZSphere setup to create the teeth in one go. Is this rendered in ZBrush?

No it isnt rendered in zbrush (in C4D) , I cant get the lighting/material/shadow settings to make it look like a statue. I havent experimented a lot with lights , but i'm going to try soon.

hope you dont mind all the updates.
All zbrush pieces where imported and rendered in cinema 4d. :

I'm experimenting with lighting now to render the beastie in zbrush. The light settings in the thread about snow material helped a lot.
I found kaz's threads on light , i'll check those out too.
Edit : I'm sorry , but for some mysterious reason , the image got messed up during the upload. So the thumbnail looks pretty weird.
I fixed it now

I have been watching this one grow and man Namek it has been excellent work all the way!
The modeling is really well done!
Way to go buddy!! Great job!
 :tu: :tu:
BTW - Is that stone look on the Gatekeeper ZBrush, C4D, or SLA Shader?
Once again, great job!

I have been following this one and enjoying it as well ....very kewl looking beast. Can't wait to see the update....the chain looks good other than the gravity situation pointed out already. I would say however, that the whole chain is not a problem. If you have held heavy chain like this (which I own some logging/tow chain) it will bunch up between the links like some of your chain has shown. Chain is funny in its nature sometimes coz it loves to kink up and stuff..so I would say just a few of the upper links might need the work of being adjested, unless you are looking for that slacked curved look...but then it depends on what the character is doing as to how the chain will react to the force...if the head is pulling back, the chain will be tight each link maxing out...anyhoo..just some thoughts...nice job and I am enjoying all the updates on this one.
EDIT...the only other thing is his pedistal...maybe readjust him to have him centered a bit..he is close to that one edge....we don't want him to fall off

Here is a quick chain ZScript. Excuse the script as the window gets cut off at the bottom (I recorded it at a larger canvas size) but the script still works and will produce a short chain. You can piece it together with dups and create a larger one. The script is in 1.51

I took everyone's advice , I think.
-I changed the chains , thanks for the script mentat7.I hope the gravity issue is better now.
-I made the pedestal bigger , you were right Ron
-I moved his wings back a bit.
-I made a zsphere model for his teeth with unified skin , only disadvantage is the high polycount.
Does he look better now ?

I also rendered him with another texture , same as the floor.
