Ok I just upgraded my os to win 7 pro and now trying to install zbrush.

I upgraded from zbrush 3.1 but didn't install 3.1 on the win 7 machine. I tried to copy the files from the compressed folder into a folder in my programs(86) folder called zbrush. Is this how to do it or is there another way? I'm used to an installer.

Anyway it won't run that way. LOL

Sorry to be a bother.

After you have put the ZBrush 3.5R2 folder into your Program Files (x86) directory you then have to right click on the ZBrush.exe and choose Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and enable the checkbox to run as administrator.

You may also need to run the C++ installer found in the TroubleshootHelp folder.

Just wanted to say that this thread really helped me too. So thanks for the advice :)

I think this answered my question. I will try this and see if it works. I kept getting an error with windows 7 about a side-by-side error configuration.
