Primate in Suit with Gun- Was this used with permission?

Just got back from Florence and spotted this poster in the center of the city. I don't recall the name of the artist who generated the original image, but wanted to bring the poster to his/her attention.

This is not an accusation that the image was used without permission, I have no way of knowing this one way or another.

Looks like the artist was member "mattcioffi". I don't see a post after 07 and the website seems to be no more.
