Here are a few things I have been doing, perhaps they will spur more from others:

Waterfall effect:

First, I start off with the basic water script. All my water is from the same tool...

Then, mask off the area to "drop" using the Ctrl key:

Then set the Deform Offset slider to Z and slide away...

Surf:
Create an Alpha Mask using the simple brush

Grab it using MRGZBGrabber.
Clear the layer
Basic Water.
Load the alpha as a mask
Set the Deform Offset slider to Z and slide to set the hight(-14). Then set it to X and slide to set the movement (-10?).

Well, it's a start anyway... I hope someone plays with this and posts some cool things...

hi, Kaz! :D

thank you so mucho!!!! these are very inspiring thoughts! i loved your waterfall-projects right from the beginning and cant wait for that ultimative niagara i am sure you will create one day... (and i am planning to incorporate some cascades into my terrains as soon as i get the hang of it)

i had no time to play with your techniques yet, but the thread-title "liquid thoughts" reminded me of a friend of mine, who, for years had big trouble when p**ing (he is cured by now): "without concentrating on a vision of an evergrowing city of cascadas Otto could not ’let go’..."

in real life Otto is looking completely different (and probably his vision did so, too), but what the heck, i thought it kinda funny so i wanted to share it here ;) :D

Lately, I've been enjoying these threads that start in one place and end up going in the strangest directions! :)

Here's one now! First, Kaz does a really fine explanation of a water technique, starts Juandel thinking of an unfortunate friend with a 'urinary uniqueness', and 'Voila!'...

We have a vision of Otto....

Thanks to both of you... :tu: :tu: :tu: :D

I love that. Unfortunate, but the image is great. You never know where inspiration will come from or go to...
