Bi-Weekly Challenge for May 5 - 19

Hi All! Long time no see. I decided to make a visit to the weekly chat and somehow managed to be persuaded to post the current challenge. The members present have decided that this challenge will last two weeks, instead of one week or a month.

And the challenge is: Produce an image showing opposites..such as apples/oranges, up/down, good/bad, etc. The twist is, we present the opposites in a symmetrical display. I used the example of the ying/yang symbol familiar to most of us. The symbol represents two opposite sides, good and evil, if I remember correctly, yet the symbol is completely symmetrical. Of course, in our challenge perfect symmetry is not necessary, but the image should show a balance between the two subjects, as well as conveying their opposing natures.

I am looking forward to seeing how this challenge is interpreted!!! It should be a good one, and I hope everyone will try.

I like it, Deb. And this is exactly within the theme and style intended. I still haven't been able to come up with an idea for mine...ironic, since it was my suggestion. :rolleyes:

Here is my entry for the gallery. The theme is religion and the ascent to heaven or descent to hell. I used, obviously, symmetry in the stairs and faces, but maybe not so obvious is that I used blue and orange as my main colors, which are opposites on the color wheel.

My first Gallery Entry..first Image uploaded to ZBC...and first complete work in ZBrush.

I still need to work on lighting,fog, and umm...well...Mostly Lighting and fog =)
I can figure out the rest as I go along (like eyes for example...thought I didn't see the need for then in this work).
Anywho these Challenges are great tool for honing skills =) and since I have a week left before the 2week deadline...if I can find extra time..I might turn in another.

Hey Slosh, very interesting and well executed image. I really like it! I have been very busy lately but I hope to find time to try this challenge. Thanks for the interesting and challenging idea!
