hey DeeVee, welpers Joe..here is the original sketch I did over coffee when the idea was coming to me. I named it Plucking Life aka 3 month harvest....the image is about abortion for the most part..I am personally prolife and wanted to make an image that was disturbing as I find the act of abortion. The lack of people per say in the image reflects the lack of care for the fetus. The plant so easily bares life, and so easily allows it to be plucked. The water represents the murky waters of where I find the ones who perform the act. So I leave them obscure in the cloudy waters. I make the instrument rising from the water, with its operator unseen out of the spotlight. There are also a swarm of sperm representing absent fathers and also the water which feeds the plants and is also ready to renourish the plants upon the finality of the harvest once again. One of the plants shows a fetus peeking out and onlooking to it possible fate. The birth plant is thorny and pretty at the same time to me...the thorns represent the caution that should be taken when appoaching reproduction and the reprecussions of getting stung. There is also a disposed carcass on the bank at the base of the plant. Laying in the open and discarded, showing the lack of feeling that surrounding the aftermath..I dont think I left anything out. The bug on the stem is actually an accident of shade and shodows...Iliked it there so I didnt try to fix it...hmm...welpers..here is the sketch that brought all this about..its crudely rendered but ideas are like that sometimes.. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1012971816hhk.jpg
