If there's such a thing as a new-newbee, I'm it. I'm -very- experienced in 2D graphics and no slouch in 3D, but I'm having some problems with ZBrush. In particular for now, my second day of using the program, the gyro. I was having some trouble figuring how to use it, so I ran the Gyro ZScript (I'm using a paid-for-but-not-yet-permanent 1.23 on Mac) and it had the same trouble, so now I'm really confused. Basically, I can move the blue cube around and have it rotate around the red sphere, but I can't get it to move in/out, or rotate in any direction. The ZScript demo that's supposed to show it doing these things doesn't do anything except, in the case of moving in/out make the cube disappear briefly. I assume that it passes behind the viewpoint, but it never gets smaller or anything, and never rotates at all.....This was the trouble I was having in my own experiment, so I'm none the wiser.
Am I missing a setting? If so, where? Thanks in advance....

This is an entry from the 'Quicklinks' at the top of the page, which is probably the best place to start for you...This one explains moving objects using the Gyro, but check out the entire quicklinks section...

(And welcome to the forum...!)

And this one is Uphams' Newbie site which is the clearest explanation in terms of the Z-Environment, that I've seen! http://zbrush.cjb.net/

These should start you off, especially Uphams' site...!

Thanks for the tip! Sorry if I cluttered up this space inappropriately. I realize that my difficulty was the lack of perspective in the Z space of ZBrush, otherwise, the gyro is as clear as the handles in a 3D program (actually, clearer than most). Darn, this is fun! I can't wait 'til I have something to post!
