$250,000 stick figure model!

It's estimated that this simple 3d stick figure has earned over $250 grands over several years via microstock agencies (photo and image selling agencies such as shutterstock, dreamstime, fotolia, 123rf etc.) Does anyone here has the same success story with zbrush generated model on microstocks? Please Share your experience! :tu:

Kinda interesting - do you have a complete list of the photo and image selling agencies. I noticed you called them microstock agencies. Can you explain more about the microstock agencies?

I don't know how it is for the 3D stock world but I also do cinematography stuff I know it is almost impossible to make money with stock video footage.

hello SpaceMan, microstock agencies are place to sell your hi res photography or renderred 3d images (so they don't accept 3d models), the lists of top ones are:

from what i've heard, your best earnings will come from the big 5 agencies spaceman, so dont waste your time submitting to other place outside top5.

this thread is stupid O_o if the guy uploaded over 20 000 photos, no wonder he earned 250k$, i bet it took him over 5 years to upload and make all this stuff, so he didnt earn that much, also he probably got half of that cash ...

I agree this seems like a very lucrative opportunity and am glad you shared it. Thats a pretty simple character which pretty much anyone here can create. I don't think its right to use the same design and only change the gender of it though. Learn the programs yourself and come up with an original concept if you're so interested in it. The guy who does this has probably worked a lot harder than you think to be making what he is now. :tu:
