z4 freakout thread "the waiting"

okay i've been spending this whole weekend in tori forums freaking out about the new tour.
but what i realize is that i'm trying my best to distract myself from the LONGCAT-LONG month that we still have to go until hopefully Z4 is released.
I'm going crazy checking here a hundred times a day for some new info.
anyone else going through this?

I haven't seen any screen shots of z4 interface or at least I don't think I have. Has there been any discussion on the interface? Compatibility with the 3dConexion devices (please god) or anything at all? I wasn't around for the release of 3 and 3.1, so is Pixologic good with releasing on the given dates or is it a wait-till-its-done situation?

the wait for the halflife sequels is about the same wait as for a new zbrush, i get that. lol.

Ahyeah now that you sayd it.
Luckily for me half life 2 was so dissapointing feeling and story wise
that i wasnt interested in the sequels.
Insurgency mod is all i need :)

What prompted them to release the last version was that someone
broke into the office late at night and removed the completed version.
So as to avoid potential loss, they released it.
Since then they have electrified the wire fence surrounding Pixologic,
purchased attack dogs, roving patrols and have taken to urine testing
the workers.
The moderators are exempt from the testing.
Even the one who purchased a new home days after the breakin.

Anyone doing anything the first week of August?
They will be at Siggraph, pitching their tents, selling their wares in
the marketplace.

The list of exhibitors at Siggraph 2009 (http://sis.siggraph.org) doesn't show Pixologic or Zbrush. They're not exhibiting? (Forgive me if my question is obtuse and that this is a well known fact... I'm not an insider). ;)

But I COULD have gone... not like poor Andrew Shpagin, the writer of 3DCoat who had his visa denied without further explanation. And then he didn't get his reg fee back from siggraph as well. znub, you might want to think about buying zbrush now, cause i'm sure the price will go up, "ZBrush 4 will be a free upgrade for all registered users of ZBrush on Windows and Mac systems."

how do you expect them to dop that ? there is no single vertex control in zbrush

you can move a single vertex, and isn't poly painting vertex painting? couldn't they just implement another layer of polypaint as weighting, something like that? as it is now you can view the weighting by going into polyframe mode, you can see the groups, i'm sure that weighting by groups could be modified as well. i'm sure something will happen, who knows what though.

also if they're not going to siggraph we probably won't get any info until late in the month, or as a previous posted, the 100th day of august. :D

Man, I just picked up a second monitor; 23" Acer 16:9 monitor in anticipation of ZB 3.5, I sort of have buyers remorse so it's still in the box, I work at Geek Squad part time and Best Buy had it on sale for so cheap that I didn't even get a discount, I'm waiting for the release to open it..........c'mon guys release ZB 3.5, release.......release............release.......... ............................. :eek:
