okay it's not a self-portrait ;)

but it's my first z-model/color job! I had a blast doing it. he's missing eyes, and i haven't figured out bump mapping yet.

I LOVE THIS PROGRAM!!!

Thank God this is not a self-portrait! I'd have to tell you to get some sun. Great first post, Leviathan. Don't expect to sleep much in the weeks to come...ZBrush is extremely addictive.

Very nice start, Leviathan!

For your question regarding bump mapping, there are two common approaches. The first is via the Color Bump modifier of certain materials. Not all materials have it, but most do. The higher the setting, the more bump will be derived from the object's texture.

The second approach is done through alpha masking -- and can also be derived from the object's texture map. Glen Southern has done an excellent job of illustrating the technique in this thread: Bumping the Orc (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=002907).

Nicely done.
Reminds me of a challenge I was going to issue to ZBrush a self portrait but I never got round to starting my own! :tu:
