Howdy,
I don't mind working this out myself but I would appreciate if someone could tell me if what I want to do is at least possible.
Can I scan a leaf for example then use the shape to stamp out a shape on say a 3D plane tool. Sort of like a cookie cutter. So I can then stick the leaf scan onto the cut out shape. Which I could then manipulate. I hope I've made myself clear.

Yup...........aurick has done that..........look on the pixologic site in user galleries.........one with the butterflies and leaves.....a short description on how he did it is there.

Thanks Ed,
I can't tell if Mattew cut out the shape with something or if the black bits on the texture became invisible. Maybe I should ask Aurick.
Hi Thelonius!
I actually told the exact process that I used in this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001815&p=2). It's at the top of the second page.
The technique is a form of transparency masking, and it has nothing to do with the texture other than matching its shape. The secret is a combination of alpha palette and selection modifiers.
I also created a full ZScript tutorial on the subject, which is in Pixologic's script library (http://www.zbrush.com/download/zscriptfr.html) under the name of Transparency Masking.
It's a very easy technique, but VERY powerful! Enjoy!

Yikes,
More than what I expect.
I haven't checked it all out yet but it looks like christmas has come early this year. ;)
I'll post something as soon as I get a result. Thanks a lot Mathew.
