Congratulations to Muvlo for posting his 1,000th message here at ZBrushCentral!

Note: Below is a new 1000th post format. The interview-format will allow us to learn more about the new members of the 1,000-posts club and we hope that you’ll find this new format beneficial and enjoyable.

Interview With Muvlo

Tell us about yourself…

Where do you live?
Arrakis... Oops, no, Earth, United States.

What do you do for work?
Still a student at this time!

What do you do for fun? (besides ZBrushing ;))
Other art, love to read, procrastinate on various projects, etc.

How old do you tell people you are?
"Seven and a half million years???" "I said it would take a little time."

What would you like to say on this momentous occasion?
I need only open ChapterHouse: Dune. "It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible. Such people have a tendency to become drunk on violence, a condition to which they are quickly addicted."

Tell us about your work with ZBrush…

What first attracted you to ZBrush?
Seeing other people doing the fantastic work in it! I could never figure out how they did it, but eventually after reading a lot on ZAcademy it became clear...

What's your favorite ZBrush feature or tool?
ZScripts!!!

What's your favorite thing about working with ZBrush?
It is so smooth and easy to use and fun!

What other software do you use, if any?
Corel Photo-Paint, Terragen, Windows... ;)

What other (non-digital) media do you work in, if any?
Paint, Pencil, Pen, Clay

What's your favorite genre, theme, or style of artwork?
Uh-oh, can't think of an answer to that one...

What are your main sources of inspiration?
Weather. Rainy weather especially. Gives me a good paint-a-Zee-Pic mood.

What artists have influenced you? (ZBrush and/or non-ZBrush)
I'm one of those people who looks at just about every picture I see and think "Wow that's neat!", so I could not list all the artists who've inspired me. :)

When you create something in ZBrush, how much do you plan in advance, and how much do you let it take shape while you create?
Most of the time I have only an idea as detailed as "Make a head model", or "Paint a ZScape".

What are the most important elements in creating a really compelling image?
To me, the lighting/colors can create strong moods in an image with even the simplest objects.

What do you hope to convey most in your artwork?
Mood. I want someone to see an image and think... "Ah, summer picnic", or "Life smells like a rotten egg", etc.

What is/are your favorite tip(s) for ZBrush newbies?
A) No you can't reselect it. ;)
B) Keep at it. In a week, or a month, you and ZBrush will be creating awesome stuff!

Tell us about your favorite ZBrush creation…

Favorite image? Music (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003383)
Tell us about this image… Though it is still unfinished, this project has been a great modeling + final render experience for me. I wanted individual parts to look good alone, and using a combination of materials, lighting, fog, and post-render color adjustments I think I achieved it. :)

Favorite ZScript? MazeGame (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003507)
Tell us about this ZScript… I just like this one because here I really began seeing, "Yes, ZScripts can potentially control the world!"

Share with us a few more facts about yourself…

What's your favorite band, singer, or style of music?
MIDI music is the best!

What's your favorite TV show, movie, actor or director?
Star Trek the Original Series and Next Generation. Also Dark Shadows (original, not miniseries) and MASH. And the X-Files.

What's your favorite book, magazine or author?
Frank Herbert!

What's your favorite snack food?
Food...?, oh yeah, that stuff. Multigrain Cheerios.

What's a good motto to live by?
"Early to bed and Early to rise, makes a man stupid and blind in the eyes."

What's your favorite thing about participating in ZBrushCentral?
The members are all great!

If the members of ZBrushCentral awarded you a trophy, it would probably Be for "Best / Most _______"
Most like a blue-eyed bunny rabbit.

Finally, write a question we haven't asked, and answer it.
The next 1,000th-message poster will be asked your question…

How many times have you drawn the ZBrush logo in a graphing calculator?
Twice.

:b3:We thank Muvlo for his contribution to the ZBrush community and for taking the time to answer the above questions.
To signify 1,000 messages, the dots beneath his name (each represents 100 posts) have been replaced with a star.

Heartest congratulations. I have enjoyed your frank opinions and advice since becoming a member of this forum. I wish you well, and hope that you will continue to advice, share and inspire, so that both new and old members will benifit from your knowledge and experience of this software we all love and affectionally refer to as the Zee.

First, my big thanks to Pixologic, who as I recall actually made/are making the most brilliant software ever!!! :)

And second, my equally big thanks to all the other 1501 members on this forum. You make it the best place in the world to be! :)

P.S. Do you have something against Cheerios? Cheerios are brilliant! When I come home after a long day of mining on Rura Pente -the alien's graveyard-, the first thing to be done is: Eat Cheerios! The .5 thing to do is start ZBrush up, so it'll be warmed up for me when the Cheerios have been eaten.

It's no surprise that someone who seems to be able to do everything, can do so well and be so interested in a software that seems to be able to do everything. Your talents will take you far. Keep up the good work :tu:
