Ok so here is very easy way to post videos for me so I though I would share this dynamic webpage that updates automatically as I upload videos.
www.houseoftutorials.net/video (http://www.houseoftutorials.net/video)
This has the Hi and Low res videos all in the same place. Please try not to flood my bandwidth on mediafire to much by downloading the entire video collection all at once or I will have to cut the High Res links off.
Join me as I add new titles to it.
Zbrush 312b
Maya 2009
Unreal Engine
Photoshop CS4
with the possibility to grow in the near future.
I usually record alot more than I post here cause it has been a pain to format it to fit this forum. Now I wil only have to Upload and Walla instant update.
For those out of country peeps that do not recieve veoh. you will find all the videos on youtube also. ;)

jason you ever think about setting up torrents for your vids, wouldn't that help with the bandwidth issues?

I have to seed them though? We'll see how this grows so far the levy is holding;)

hmm yeah the initial seed, then hopefully all the peers would be able to carry the BW, i've never done it myself but you may need to go through a tracker. maybe more trouble than its worth, but it is an alternative to mediafire who's links expire sometimes.

To Bad!!! Veoh no longer can be acessed by brazilians. I dont know what happened but it is a shame being banned by bad behavior of some idiots.
Anyway. I have VTC signed. Hope you post those videos there.
Thanks for your great videos.

Now with you tube support (check link above)
VTC is a separate company that I work with. This is a Pro-bono (without pay) thing.
Enjoy

Jason,
thank you for making those videos available. They are really great.
I also liked your introduction series over on vtc. and the old versions you had for sale on your website that i bought.
By the way. Is it you that is creating that Game Character modeling and sculpting series that is currently in development at the vtc site? Can't wait to see those.
The main reason i write this is that I was wondering if you are planing to do the skull sculpting tutorial for the 3.12b mac series? Because the transparency problem with subtools and the ImageplaneX seems still to be there in the current mac version. So it would be great to see how you would do it and overcome that problem.
so keep up the good work
thanks
Mike

Hello dharcon17
Nope in fact that is not me doing the character modeling. I have halted all intense videos that require me under a contract until summer and I think I am going pro bono for a while since I already work full time at one job and part time at another.
The texturing series I did for VTC has alot of good tips on getting your high res model over to a texture ran model that was more manageable.
The skull video was a great way just to show how the techniques could be used so I probably will be making a new one. However your correct in the fact that the Transparency is broken within subtools so I have been putting it off until I could figure out a work around. The only thing I found was Fliping the sculpt meshes normals Tool/Display properties/flip and then turning on the TRANS button.
The only bad thing is that the transparency is buggy feeling and gives off a weird illusion.
So ya fun stuff , we’ll see, I might not be able to use that method until pixologic steps up with a better answer.

Is that a box at level one :)
(heh private joke between troy and me)
Good job with the tools provided.
I like how you went further into details.
The high res on the palm turned out great.
The first bend in the ring might want to move it one scoush down other than that looks good.
Thanks for the post here I think a simple hand would make a great simple challenge and get people back to the basics.
Simple studys build confidence and allows you to see good form.
wait till you see some of the next vids where I make
Emo soldier ;)

Where I manipulate poly paints through subtools.
Jason,
Thank you for your tireless efforts at instruction.
I have a question about the 3.12 lessons. Specifically, the 'Procedural' videos (un-numbered).
This is a very cool work-flow. However, if I want to render out an image in Maya in Mental Ray, how do I use this? Do I make a map? How is it applied and connected to the shader network?
Thanks!

yes snark you will need to bake it to a texture within maya ( i think I showed an example of that baking the workflow in those videos because I baked out the map for Zbrush to bump up the character.. Then you need to mount it in the color channel on the material.

are those videos that explain baking in maya

yup Jason its from a box...:D
after all what else is there in my world..lol
but i am starting to transition into using other methods and workflows..;)
thanks Jason it was just a quick study yeah i didn't see that ring finger till you mentioned it proportions are off in many places now that i look at it again.. looks like it has a ways to go yet...
yeah i think a hand would be a good challenge because there's so many subtleties in form and it would really force you to see forms more closely..
looking forward to your next videos to come and hopefully your zbrush 4 videos to come soon....
i always seem to learn something new...;)

Jason thanks for all your videos, you are the reason i ever learned how to use zbrush properly and all your experience and clear tutorials helped me so much.
p.s I am looking forward to buying your maya tutorials from your site on payday.
Wow Jason, I started out watching ur Gears of War Editor Tutorials and then found out ur into Zbrush, thats awesome, you should make a Zbrush to Max to GOW Editor tutorial. It would help out so much and it would be so much appreciated. :D

I'm Mac and never going back ;)
If I do I will have to choose maya only because Zbrush to max is tricky with explosion point order problems.
Its the deform er type modification that makes max sorta weird.
I won't say I hate it to bad just don't prefer it.
To bad Epic has not supported that Mod community the way they used to.
I love gears but gears only died from microsoft not allowing epic to make it totally modable. Modable games live forever. Then no gears II for PC!
That was the last straw. UT is fun to mod but the AI for a monster shootem game like GOW wasnt there making it fun only for enviromental modeling.
I really want to get into the UNity engine. But I want to try before I buy it.

0227-0240 Has been added to the Zbrush Season 3 dealing with alpha based generated meshes and how to build up and sculpt separate forms. Then I take it to maya with Go Z as a test of the sweetest plugin of all ;)
sadface yea zbrush to max is pretty complicated, modable games do last forever =D, and no gears 2 for pc is so sad, epic could have been great

Hi Jason,
give Unity a try , it is an awesome engine. We use it for all our games. It's features ranges from standalone mac/win games to even iphone support.
Have a look at this site here.
http://www.geartechgames.com/GearTech_Games/Welcome.html
It's the website of one of my team members. He made some tutorials for me and others of how to use modo and zbrush with unity. And he also created some demos. There is even the project files for his Asylum demo to play with. Just have a look around.
We use Modo/Zbrush in our daily workflow with Unity and it's a great combination.
So give Unity a try , you won't be disappointed. It's way better than blender GE and modding games.
And you are right on one thing , i will also never go back to windows
again.
Cheers
Mike
