View Full Version : Bathing Elephant Re-Named to... Love at First Sight now COMPLETE!
I know I said that my next image was going to be another landscape, well I though that I would work realy hard at this one, so I decided to create an elephant bathing in water next to an old tree. Only the head done so far, thought I would share as I am very pleased with it. This took two and a half hours, i didn't drop and then paint with Zadd for a change (which is always good for texture) instead I managed to manipulate a material into looking like elephant skin and also created an elephant skin alpha which was painted on to the head using TM. This is going to be a long night!!

Nice Elephant head, P! I'm really glad to see you planning a scene so carefully, and have every confidence that the result will be fantastic in the final image!
:tu: :tu: :tu:  :tu: :tu: :tu:
sweet job!!
Ive been trying to use texture master to make textures instead of just dropping and painting. Could you post a script on how you textured that using just texture master? I would really like to know so i can make fabulous textures for my models that even have wrinkles and stuff. I normally make a basic texture in TM, drop to canvas, and use zsub to make wrinkles and stuff. How did you manage that using only TM? Thanks.
Okay nearly finished the elephant part of this image, still need to soften some of the joins. I did use Zadd on the complete elephant, to add a little extra detail. As far just using TM is conserned, well I think most of the credit goes to the actual material, of recent I have found that the materials are the most important factor in achieving the image you want. The one I used here can be found in the Pixolators material pack (thanx Pix) I just modified it to get It just right for me. I will post the alpha and the material when I complete the full image, it time for some sleep now.zzzzzzzzzz

This is incredible. I like the hairs on the face and trunk. I've seen pictures of elephants with big soulful eyes. I hope you put those in too.

All I can do is echo everything all the other good people here have said.
Brilliant !!!!!
Nearly finished, another few hours and this will be finished.
The young elephant has found a new friend and is gazing in to their eyes (there will be a bird on the rock. There will be minimum movement in the water in oredr to give you the impresion that he has been sitting there staring for some time, love at first sight.

Wonderful work, P! This has turned into a real Z-Masterpiece, and all your ideas on this pic seem on the money to me!!!
:tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:
And as a lapidary, I have to tell you those are the BEST rocks anyone has shown here!
What a beautiful sentiment in the picture you are creating. Everything in this scene is remarkably well done, especially like the sky here. The elephant is sooo good, I think the picture of him by himself was a masterpiece on its own.

Wow! Some of the best work I`v seen here.
I was wondering where the tree textures
are from? ,because the trees ,especialy the fallen tree in back of the biggest rock has great texture.
The whole pict is full of great textures!

this is so adorable very well done
I noticed stars and dots under our names. I was wondering what they mean. I know the legend of graemlins has descriptons but what our the others for? Also I wanted to rate this piece youv'e done Picsas except thumbs up icons aren't enough. So I'll just do this. :tu: X 100000. Have you considered turning your resumè into Pixologic?
The stars and dots represent how many times you have posted in the forum, responses included. One gray dot is 0-99, 2 is 100-199, etc. The dots turn to orange after 500, something like that. I think a star is 1000.
wow.. just wow!! I really love this, great job!

a fine elephant, Picsas.
The one by the water reminded me of this 10 year old local temple elephant that would get taken down to the river and washed every morning.

Mammothly stupendous work, Picsas. The landscape is great, but that elephant is just incredible. Great texturing and modeling, both!
Okay thats it i am finaly finished. I gotta thank you lot for all your comments as they helped keep the motivation pumping, and hey Pix this software is so amazing, it seemed to cope very well throughout. This is modeled textured and rendered in ZBrush, the rock and wood textures are imported from digital images, and the energy supplied by cafeen.
The rains have started, first a small shower and soon a lot more is going to fall from the sky. The Olive Green Finch's are on the move and in search for the insects brought out by the shallow flowing water. The young Indian Elephant makes eye contact with a finch that has landed in front of him, they gaze into each others eyes for a moment, as though it was love at first sight, they seem to be amazed at each others beauty.

My favorite piece from you by far Picsas.
It feels like you could walk into this one. I especially like how you integrated the illumination from the sky into your model textures. Really ties everything together nicely.
Just how much caffeine DID you consume for this project?
