View Full Version : Z Brush and Rhino
Dear Z Brushers:
I am trying to get the work-flow down for exporting models, materials and textures for use in other 3d programs. I use Rhino as my primary 3d program. What is the best way to import z Brush models, materials, and textures (as a whole) into Rhino and have them appear as they do when I export them from Z Brush.
Thanks in advance.

ZB, as you may know will export OBJs and DXFs. Unless you have the correct plugin to handle OBJ's (and If I remember it's not cheap) you are going to have to use DXF. The biggest problem you will come across is the simple fact that ZBrush generally creates dense polygon meshes and Rhino is a NURBS modeler. It will import polygonal models but I haven't really liked the results I have achieved. I'd be interested to see what you come up with.

Rhino can convert polygon to nurbs... but.. not perfect...
I think marcel tested this method.. you will find some post about that... try search with "nurbs" word in request
