Hello ;) .

I've done it again!, now im having some texturing problems. It seems everytime I load my textured object (or sometimes it seems I don't even have to do that) the texture moves just a little, misplacing all my highlights, lips etc and creating colorless gaps..which is kind of annoying =/. Is this something I have to learn to live with or could I be doing something wrong?. (Im using TextureMaster)

Also the use of materials just makes my creations looks as if they were in some bad preview mode (But I had it in Best Render mode), I figured I'd just hit the flashy Render button to my right and things would look ok..but it didn't, it looked exactly the same. Do you guys export to another program and render there to get those wicked results I see in the Zbrush homepage gallery?, or did I not press the button hard enough? ;) .

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :) .

Hey K!
In this thread, I give the settings I use for rendering...Should give you a start... http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=005045

As far as your texturing problem goes, I hand-paint once I snapshot my object, so I can't help you with that, but someone here will, I'm sure... ;)

Oh I missed that post, thanks =). I try to modify those settings but nothing changes, or atleast I can't see it. Is everything supposed to render in real time or should things change when I press the Render button?, because it doesn't..think it could be because im working with a too small canvas? (800x600 I think).

Oh yea i could upload a script, I just gotta find a place to upload too (I think I got a place tho, will try tomorrow).[/LIST]

I fired it up and checked and I noticed I was actually working in 640x480, think thats what causes the problem with the infamous "Bad Render"?.

You should still be able to get a decent render at the smaller size, K...
I usually work in 'double' size, best-render in the larger size, followed by exporting the image to the resizing app, where I reduce the size...This alone will sharpen your image... :)
Oh, and you should also try selecting the 'Color Antialiasing' button...

Ok I'll try that, and I'll work on a larger canvas next time (I found a button called Color Adjustment in the Render menu, I take it thats the one you mean).

Thanks for the help! :tu: .

And when you upload your script, just upload it to ZBC! (Click "Upload File" when posting.)

I can think of a few possibilities here.

For one thing, make sure that you're painting a large texture size. If the texture's too small for the scale that you're working at, you can get blocky textures.

Second, materials that are quite different from one another usually have nasty interactions where they meet. I think that this is what's happening to you. Try to keep your material joins in places where there are already lines in the texture or the geometry. If you're going for an effect of more specularity on an area of skin, then use a clone of your base material and make only small changes to the copy's properties. This will allow the materials to play nicely together.

If you remember from Chapter 3 of the TextureMaster tutorial, it ends with a new material being applied to the window and another to the top and bottom of the cylinder. These materials are quite different from what had been present before, and sure enough -- there are nasty edges there, too.

Pixolator disguised the first ones by making the window the same size and shape as the square that had already been painted on the texture. The material join then becomes a part of the edge between window and metal -- just like you'd expect in real life. But look at the ring around the top of the object. You can see that there is a dark line where the new material is conflicting with the original. If he'd made the circle a little smaller or larger during texturing, that edge would have fallen along a natural line and not been noticeable. But as you can see in the pic, he didn't.

ok i scan threw the thread and my guess is your clicking the RENDER button nothing happens only if you click adjustment.
ok it depends what your redering like FOG or transparnecy.
of course nothing going to happen unless you render some thing that needs to be render like fog but clicking each render you should see some effect i think your only clicking BEST RENDER maybe.
under RENDER you see 4 set best render ,preveiw render, fast render ,flat render....... now go to MODIFYERS under neath that and find like FOG to RENDER then hold your CTRL button down when you highlite any thing under MODIFYERS it will tell you what RENDER mode to chose..

Oh I can upload to here, how sweet!.

Thanks for the help all, I'll be making another try today with the newly gained wisdom.

(About the texture being displaced I think I accidently scaled the object just a tad in some direction, but if it happends again I'll be back =P.)
