Heya, I'm a 3D animator gone illustrator/ graphic artist, I know Lightwave inside and out, but see Z brush as being the only solution for me now, it looks great, so I finally bought it...

Ok, so why I'm I having a hard time wrapping my head around this bitch?? :p

the quick reference isn't doing the trick at all, the manuel, is well, a manual, kinda vague on full procedures.
and the z scripts are not what I'm lookin' for...

is there any other way!? Like ... I dunno.. regular tutorials on say... complex stuff, like full character creation or whatever... I dunno, the real deal... the JUICE!!

I need the fastest, FASTEST way possible to transfer my modeling and texturing skills from LW to Z.

I see some great stuff come out of this package, i need to get there a.s.a.p.

pulling out my own hair,
xadeus :D

Welcome to the fold of the Z, X!!!

Read the part about loading zscripts in the links or manual.. that is going to be your quickest way to learn this outstanding software. The Zscripts are basically modeling sessions that run in your zbrush window and show you how to do certains things, depending on the zscript you chose to run. You show click on the show actions in your zscript pallette on the program so you can see what tools are being chosen etc.....and if you can't find the script you are looking for...just ask out here in the forum and someone will probably be able to post one. Far as LW stuff...Glen Southerns is probably one of the tops on the forum with LW and zbrush. Zbrush is very easy to use once you learn the basics of the interface and look thru a few scripts. If this one can help you get started its one of my little modeling scripts....though there are a ton of them here on the forum...and there are also several I believe that came with the program as well made by the masters.

Welcome, fellow Recovering Lightwave user...

well to tell you the truth there are tutoreials all over the forum on Zspheres, that is what I use to make videogame DECO/charictors.

anyways, I am not sure where to find them, I have had my best luck useing the Zsphere modeling scripts... make sure you have notes and auto notes turned on in the script panel. that way it will tell you absolutely everything that is going on ...

other than that, try typeing in Zsphere modeling in the SEARCH thing on this site.

In the top right corner of every page here, there is a link to the QuickLinks. Check out the section on ZBrush 1.55b for the tutorials on ZSpheres. There are also many more tuts throughout the QuickLinks.
