View Full Version : adaptive skin issue
hi, i encounted this with my first attempt at adaptive skinning. is there a fix for this http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200311/user_image-1068677965uua.jpg
i hope the included settings might help.
Do they still appear on a best render?

I had something like that once , but only when I multimarkered objects together and made a polymesh , but it wasnt really the object that had the black spots , rather the generated texture from the polymesh.
But I guess in your case that isnt it , since you've only just skinned it... :qu:
hi, yes i have tried it on best render. it still does the same thing.
however i just tried to recreate the problem with a new zsphere adaptive mesh(same settings) and couldn't. maybe just my computer having a burp. thanks anyway

I think .. the answer is texture applied..
and uvtiles with an "normal" picture do that.

You're prob. seeing the bug that I found a long time ago...
try going into the texture pallet and hitting the clear button and see if that helps.
If that doesn't help, then try creating a new very high rez texture and applying it, then going to color and and "filling" the object which will fill the texture.
Depending on how the object was made you may find the related bug that causes ZB to shut down, in which case you need to do a bunch of stuff with creating a new texture, pressing AUV in texture, etc. etc. etc.
There's a there's a thread out there from when I first ran into this bug, so if you look for threads that were started by me, you'll eventually find the one I'm talking about.
hi again, thanks for all the input guys. i haven't been able to try any of the fixes as i'm running the demo and had already restarted Zbrush. the problem hasn't occured on a new adaptive mesh i've made but if it does appear again i will try your suggestions. thanks again for the input. having an enivronment like Zbrush central really adds to the softwares appeal. i think it will be my christmas present to myself. the hands on, organicness of creating with zbrush has rekindled my joy of modelling again. here a little late night test.. i think i need to stop sculpting earlier and start texturing. still yet to create something happy though http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200311/user_image-1068695228bed.jpg
