So when is the new release coming out, the one with the new displacement technology?

When it's ready, lancelot. When it's ready. :)

I know that's not a very precise answer, but it IS accurate! We prefer not to give a release date until we're 100% certain that we can keep it. Our experience is that it's better to leave things open than to risk dissapointing customers by pushing a release date back or releasing a program that would require patching later.

All that I can say for sure is that it is currently beta testing and so should be soon!

very well said aurick - and i do love that point of view of pixologic, not to torture the user with unfinished and unstable products, as so many others do. and i think besides the fabulous tool zbrush is, that really is a reason why so many people love it. it is worth waiting. :)
