Y'know I kind of like it a lot and then in an instant dont, and then see it from another angle and do like it again....thinking about it I recon that its cos area's of detail on the flesh are spoiling the silhouette from some angles.

Dont get me wrong, I think that it's a great piece, but areas like the lower back have their lovely curves spoiled by the raised patterning. still interested to see where you take this piece.

thanks seth for the comment, well the giger patterning on this piece is pretty much its theme since in game art everybody loves tons of details and i'm doing this for the contest i cant go smooth on this although i like a lot smooth pieces but i need space and material for texturing and glows and stuff... tht noisy patterning is giving me the look i wanted to render, indeed i went heavy handed on the lower back but ultimately the will be seen from the front tht's mostly an extra :)

yeah you have a point :)

for the record I dont think that you should smooth the patterning on the skin, but perhaps go to an engrave in some areas instead of an emboss.
