Check this pic out. I never hear anybody talking about fire and lightning effects. I know fire can be done in Zbrush but I'd like to see a tutorial on lightning. I can't imagine how you could get something better than Winimages (very cheap program-makes expensive plugins obsolete) www.blackbeltsystems.com (http://www.blackbeltsystems.com)
I was looking through some Spectrum art books and in Zbrush the mushroom explosion came out looking like an oil painting. I know the saturation brush helps but does anybody know how to replicate the color and composition of the effects of Winimages. Imagine if Aurick or Frenchy or you other Zbrushers made a script for weather and fire effects. It would make alot of plugin developers very angry. Thanks if you care. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200311/user_image-1068341708bum.gif

I like that script Ron. I prefer the hard work reflections of Zbrush rather than the super accurate ones of raytracers. The one thing I do like about raytracers is how the light plays off other objects. Like different colors shining through the art glass in churches only to have the color illuminate and follow the contours of any object. I would love to know how to do that. The only plugin I'd ever consider getting is the Mystical Lighting one from autofx.com. That does it wonderfully. But the thing is so slow on my computer. Almost as slow as a raytracer. That's why I wanna do everything in Zbrush. You guys rock. Please save me money. Gonna try that atomic thing Frenchy. I talk too much.

I like the atomic explosion script but I wonder if it might be better to do it freestyle instead of using models? I've seen a couple of cloud scripts that made me feel stupid seeing how easy it is to do.

With Zbrush sometimes it works best to think outside of the box.... :) Alot is possible with zbrush with only a little creativity in the workflow and thought process...good luck and glad you liked the script...looking forward to your results....
Here is my Energy elemental
What is fun is that I was just working on this before going to bed.
Just having fun with a head flat texture and a smudge brush. What else ? Highligter for the rays in the eyes.Just a poor layer and about 20 minutes.I'll try to do a complete project with this to improve it.
Don't be to severe with it it's just trying.
ps: i know you are not severe just joking.
pps: go on with this forum it's just great.

I really like that Curo. With the way the smudge brush pushes things in Zbrush, I would love for them to make a deform brush like the ones in Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop where you can twirl and enlarge in real time over any part of the image. Probably couldn't make a script for that one. Somebody tell them to put it in the next version. And how come I can't test the Beta? I promise I'll be professional and use it for testing purposes only.

darkink ... try Particle illusion (http://www.wondertouch.com/default.asp)
You might find this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010978) very interesting.
One great thing about ZBrush is the ability to replay strokes using the Stroke palette. So you can change the settings to trace the same stroke.
Also, check out the Balrog (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=005743) for some great fire.

I have been really busy lately, but here is a quick script of lightning.lightning_01.TXT (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200311/user_file-1068480209uch.txt). It goes really quick, but make sure your turn on the show actions and notes buttons on in the Zscript folder.
Just a few quick notes. The Highlighter 2 brush needs a base color already laid down on the canvas. This is why I picked and filled the canvas with the flat black color. This was for demonstration purposes only. You could very easily import an image and achieve the same results, just make sure that the flat color material is selected, when you fill the canvas with the image/texture. P.s just make sure that the H2 brush is set to it "main" setting, and that you try to work from dark to light. Finally note that if you have a very bright background image, than this technique will be less effective. Hope this helps some. :)

DarkInk you might also want to take a quick look at my gallery here at ZBC. It contains quite a few examples of how I used this method to create different effects such as fire and lightning, to self illuminating objects(drag stroke), to lasers, and many other cool things. (look for the Godzilla series) Anyway, if anyone has a question just post, and I'll try to get back to you asap. :)
