the scultp looks real good but i don't think it captures a slave. The woman looks too happy and i doubt slaves had dresses that nice.

Whats up Cory,

That dress is looking really awesome man! You've got a wonderful start on her.

Keep hashing out some of the anatomy forms though, particularly the fingers, feet and rib cage area. Some of it just feels a little gumby at the moment. I know its a work in progress though so I'm sure you're on it:)

I think I agree with TheNorm. For a 19th century freed slave, the sculpt is perfect, I cannot see any flaws with the form. However, it just doesn't seem to convey the hardships of slave working life. Her skin is too perfect, her forehead doesn't reflect the stress of a life of long, hard days. Plus her dress is without patches or tears. Perhaps this would be appropriate for a house servant, but even then, I have to imagine they would be of a somewhat lower quality.

thanks everyone, keep the crits comin. yea i wanna go back and finish the sculpt on her hands exc. and yes i do plan to mess up her dress and give it a dirty look. hopefully i can get to that soon.
