Hi :)
It has been a while since I was able to ‘sneak in’ some ‘quality art-time’ but I was able to do so today and I hope to be able to do so more often in the near future (especially following the next Zrelease).
The first image will be a new version of “Under the Zee” (the old version that was created in ZBrush 1.23b can be seen in here (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/user-gallery/getthumbs.shtml?1_Alon&linkall) ). I will be creating the image in v1.5+ and will be using ZSpheres to model the creatures and scenery.
Let’s get started...
Here is the first UnderZee creature...(the model is still in its basic form and yet to be refined and textured)
The unmodified skinned mesh and its ZSpheres tool...

Click here to download the ZSphere object for further examination and experimentations (http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_file-1031630823kuj.zip).
As the image progresses, I will be posting more of ZTools that will be used in the image and I hope that you’ll find these helpful to your exploration of ZSpheres and other ZBrush 1.5+ features :)

Thanks Ofer, and I'll be downloading this model and any others you post for the examination...I have to say that ZSpheres are almost a mystical concept to me...
It seems to my mind that you don't have a real object in a ZSphere tool, but instead a series of Spatial Drawing Commands...Probably just my twisted interpretation but fascinating as a topological brain twister, and therefore worth the used brain cells! :D
And I'm DELIGHTED you're getting time to do some art...It must make you crazy not to have the time...Cheers, Magic Man!
It looks super, Pix. Thanks. I'm looking forward to new Under the Zee pic. Your last one was awesome.

A great looking start and thanks for posting the tool so we can see how those 'close' to ZBrush do it.
I'm really intrigued by how you were able to apply membrane curvature to specific parts of the tool and not others. Are you able to share the secret if that is indeed what you did to get the fins?
I tried doing this on one of mine by masking the zsphere tool before skinning but the whole model was skinned.
Many thanks
Dave
Nicely modelled and thanks for sharing the Ztool. :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Great start Pixolator! I am going to take a good look at this.... Am I correct in assuming that the teeth are made from multiple ZSpheres with the Intersect Resolution threshold set to a specific number in order to get more polys? Or did you just mask them and divide?
Edit....nope I just looked at the tool. Simply smaller Zspheres to create the teeh. Nice and clean!

I was wondering when you'd pop up again on the forum. It's been a while, but we all know you've been busy. ;)
I'll be giving the ZSphere tools a look too. :tu:

wow, incredible creature, Pix. i love it. great work on the fins especially. could you maybe post a zscript, tutorial, or at least tips on how to make wings and fins like you do. i've tried doing stuff like that and it hasn't worked. would you be willing to share you're tecnique? i'm sure others would love to know how to do fins/wings, too.
again, terrific model.

wow Pix! Thanks for posting the tool! I'm really just learning how to work with the adaptive skin and then moving the vertices, and dividing where needed. I love the pf mode! I can finally see what I'm moving.. LOL! This will really help!

Wow, how generous of you to share your tools with us to experiment with. I really appreciate it because my modelling skills are so terrible that I never get past the initial stage, so never get to have any fun with a model.
Thanks!!
Great creatures :tu: :tu: :tu:
Thank you for the tools :tu: :tu:

Thanks for the insights Pix. I did a rather similar frog last week - my one and only half-way successful ZSphere model so far, though not as good as yours by some stretch - but then I made such a fist of the head that in the end I sent it to Z-heaven.
:tu: :) :tu:
I'm glad some time's opened up for you! :) I enjoyed the first incarnation of Under the Zee greatly, so I look forard to seeing what is produced this time! :)
Did I get the impression from your initial post that we'll see another new ZBrush version soon? :D :D :D
I learned so much just by looking at the picture you posted, I can only imagine looking at the tool itself! I really hope you have time to finish this one, so many others that you started never got completed.
