So I was wondering how do you cut specific areas of a polygon BUT keep the rest of the polygons attached (not make a huge hole where you deleted the other polygons)
In short: If u wanted to cut of a rhino's legs but still keep it's complete body shape - like an amputated rhino - how would you do it? I tried smoothing, flattening... regular brushes arent just working. Please help, thank you.

Following with rhino's legs.. I would mask the area around it and use flaten or smooth on the low subd level.
Oh, and the move brush ofcourse.

It's where move brush comes for. Well, I recorded how I did this.
Move/Smooth/Flatten combination. Hope this will help.

Nicely done :D What was that blueish tint on the tip of the leg, that looked like a mask?

Rhino didn't like that leg ;)
That bule part is just a poly group. Different groups have different colour in the wireframe view.
