[b]very[/b] beginner tutorials

What free tutorials do you recommend for someone who just popped this puppy open. I realize I can just google it or search here but the tutorials I seen are mainly geared for the intermediate on up and not the beginner.
I don't have any experience with 3dmax or any 3d software :(

Please help out a new person.
