I did this 3d character with clothing to
be used in an animated short.

All modeling and texturing done in ZBrush except cloth done in Maya.

This character is fully rigged and the cloth follows the H2O man when he walks around.

This guy is a kind of 'James Bond' comic
character that is named 'H2O Man'.
He is made out of water. This image is just
a test render, not the final result.

This is a work in progress..... http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/uploaded_from_zbc/200311/user_image-1068135056ymx.jpg

Hello Anders!! Really nice Character!! GREAT!

A few questions:
Did you use zspheres( and adaptative skinning)for the modelling session? and if so...in the rigging process inside Maya, did you face any problem with the mesh imported from Zbrush? I mean no need to rework the mesh or fix its topology in Maya for the animation?
Thanks in advance.

P.S.: The concept of H2O Man is very interesting, any chance to see some animation tests before the short is released? :)

Hugs

Answer to questions:

- Yes I did!

and if so...in the rigging process inside Maya, did you face any problem with the mesh imported from Zbrush? I mean no need to rework the mesh or fix its topology in Maya for the animation?

- No problem. Only the fact that I wanted
him shorter than I modeled him. I had to
cut him to the right size. This was because I had done a lot of work after the ZSphere phase and I didn't want to go back to the
original model. And I didn't want to redo the texturing either. Anyway it wasn't really any problem with the export!

P.S.: The concept of H2O Man is very interesting, any chance to see some animation tests before the short is released?

Yes, actually you can see one early
and fast animation test just for checking out
the cloth simulation is working: http://www.sundstedt.se/3d/test_gubbe4_large.mpg ]First Test - Cloth Movement

Hello Anders!
Thanks for the feedback! :tu:
Nice to hear it was a direct export/import work and no need for mesh reworking inside maya...

I've checked out your first test and it is a really good start..very promising as matvara already metioned.

One point that I would like to comment is that his raincoat seems too thin in the animation...here on the stills it looks fine but maybe you should make some tests thickening a little bit the raincoat and see if it looks better...ok? :)

It is nice to see more animations originated from zbrush models.
Thanks
