Ok, since I am a pre-newb, I thought I would start a project not too complicated...from what I have seen here, it won't be long before you can do something like this:

Anyways, I think that this program is unbelievable intuitive and I hope that one day I can do something worthy of posting.

Wow, leave my computer for one minute and 2 replies....This forum moves very fast! Already got a newbie question, I know how to use a cube and a sphere tools, but how do I model a simple figure? Moreover, where would I find the modeling tool thingy? Is it included in the demo? Or have I just not found it in the tools palette? Once again, thanks for the helpful replies.

This is a photo of newport house look at people waiting to go on ture of house. Ha.
Load the 'start modelling' ZScript.
It should be in the ZScript folder in your ZBrush directory.
As well as this, my turn to say it, check the quicklinks section on the forum for all you ever need to know.

Welcome unlevel!
There is already a user here named Kaz who is getting really close to that... ;)
If anyone will be the first...its most likely him (aside from Pixolator).

Hi Unlevel
Why re-make "the Opera Garnier" in Zbrush?
I suggest you to import a file DXF existant of this monument ! I think you can find it on the Net !
And after you can make any materials and textures and lights etc under Zbrush !
In theory you can make Opera in Zbrush but may be many hours to hard work except if you are Pixolator :)

Frenchy, the reason that I would like to re-create this opera house is that one day, among my talents I would like to add architectural rendering and modeling, as I want to be an architect (freshman in college right now, long ways to go). Thanks for the quick and helpful replies.

It would for sure take alot of time even if you were Pixolator ;). Its not very hard to model these things (depens on how far you need to take it tho). But still it is probably very time consuming.
Zbrush isn't a very architectural program IMO. But it can for sure render an architectural scene and model all those things, but it would not be "exact". And after you placed it on the canvas you might have some troubles keeping track of all the design from all angles since you can't rotate your entire scene.
You could model your things in modeler using solids or more precise methods of modelling, if you need things to be perfect, then bring the models into Zbrush for rendering, texture work, adding props and all those other things Zbrush handles so well =).
Again, of course you can do all that Zbrush only aswell.
i could make that :D

so Ya'll are nicely implying that I need to use another program to model architecture precisely? *sniff*
Oh, well, I still want to learn this program for character creation...
Once again, thanks for the quick and helpful responses.

Yea pretty much, its more a matter of keeping track of your architecture precisely tho. You can model it with precision (not very numerical tho). So if you just want to create nice architectural images I see no reason as to why Zbrush shouldn't work.
But if you want to use it as a blueprint, or just keep track of shapes etc, it might get tough.

I think the new cubical skinning tool that is supposed to be in the next soon-to-be-released update will be useful for some architectural work.
Here's a link to the thread where pixolator announces it.
