Duuuude! Nice story, but If you say he's got a medallion, draw a medallion in the concept! I like it, but he needs something physical to make him look extraordinary. A giant medallion or a giant syringe would do it. Good Luck.

Hey thanks aiman.

Yeah, I was wondering about what to do about the medallion. I wonder if some kind of shield would work. I was wanting this hero to be a bit inconspicuous so a shield would make him a blatant super duper hero.

Any more suggestions?

Thanks all for the comments.

Some updates on the anatomy work.

Forearms are quit complicated with all those flexors and extensors. It always seems to be the hardest part for me.

My whole world is Blue.

Very nice start on the scluping. Yes forearm is not easy :D but I wouldn't mind much with all the muscles. Afterall, even in the most builded man, the shape you get is the result of most muscles and you can hardly distinguish them.

New video of some work on the head, mostly the eyes. Don't like the quality but it does show some technique for the eye work.

Thanks Solidsnakexxx!!

Here is anoter update. This time the shaping of the feet from low sub d to high (although not the highest sub division) I'm in the millions.

I will create a subtool for the the boot by extracting off the foot.

Yet another video

The reason I am posting videos is to show how I am thinking through the process. I don't always get it correctly the first time and Zbrush is an excellent tool to quickly move the forms en mass or obliterate what you have done and start over. As a wax sculptor, I could never achieve, so quickly, what I am doing in Zbrush.

Been working on the tedious stuff. Here is some updates on the retopo. The bottom half is complete and the rest of the arms and the hands will be finished today maybe. On to posing and then detailing.

Finally finished the retopo.

Did some detail work on the face. Added a mesh for the hair and used topology tools for the headband. Also did some initial work on the shirt.

Excellent process to create the shirt. :) I agree with you in regards to the vid quality I think they should not compress it too much...

Thanks Solidsnakexxx for the support.

Yeah the video of youtube isn't that great. When I record in Zbrush you can see all the fine detail. I like posting the vids though so whoever sees this thread can get an idea of some of my work flow.

More to come.

Thank you all for your good comments.

Hey Harmonic thanks for the GI Joe comment. Actually I used to sculpt for Hasbro and have done alot of GI Joe stuff. How ironic.

I have some boot work to show soon.

Nice boot. What tools helps with the straight some lines?

jeffmeckley
02-02-09, 08:48 PM
Thank you for the kind remarks.

AVTPro: for the sharp edges on the boot sole I creased the edges on the low poly mesh. Hope this helps. The strange thing about doing this way is you have to hide any polygons that are directly attached to the edges that you want to crease. You can't just select the edges like other modelling programs. Once you get the hang of it though its not to bad. I like to keep everything contained in one piece of software to reduce the amount of technical headaches.
