here is the base mesh I will be using. A friend of mine that I work with a made it. I think is best for me to use this mesh instead of starting from scrath because I have other school project i have to work on as well so hopefully this speeds up my work flow. The finished model will look far different from what you see. All other subtools will be made in zbrush.

Looks like a great start!
is it me legs are a little short?
but yeah this is a great foundation to start from! :tu:

i think she is at average hieght right now but for my character in gonna have to make the limbs longer of course she is 6'3!
evaluation 360s make me think of office life, Ahhh!

I think it's more than average detail of the base mesh. Much of the form's already there.. Not quite sure how you like it, but I think he waist's a tad too wide...making her seems shorter. Other than that..this is a cool base to sculpt.
dustbin1_uk

yeah snakes right! I take it back the legs aren't too short, it's the waist is a bit wider, but that could be just my preference. ;)

I really like the idea and the starting mesh. It looks promising.
You say your friend made the base mesh? I hate to bring this up as I probably sound like a dweeb, but I really wouldn't want you to waste several days or even weeks before a mod comes along and sees this and says something like "You must use your own base mesh." Cuz that would really blow....
I would just make absolutely sure that's OK and ask in the official contest thread if you can use someone else's base mesh before getting too far with it.

KrakenCMT posted "You say your friend made the base mesh? I Believe that earlier in the main thread one of the mod's said that it was okay to use a base mesh that wasn't yours if you gave credit to the creator of the base mesh. If i didnt give enough credit I give more info on my friend....
Here is an update on Eva. I made her limbs longer as well her body and i played around with some of the poportions. I havnt messed with the face yet.CharacterStrip2.jpg
To be honest, I liked your base mesh more. With re-proportioning you lost the hips, the top of which is slightly above the navel.
I think her feet are a bit further forward then where they should be as well, making her look a bit unstable and tilting to fall backwards (in the side view). It's either that, or her top is a bit too far to the back :/
I'd also thin down her legs, especially if you're going for really curvy look.
Looking forward for more updates!
sazar26
12-31-08, 05:04 PM
you are right about the hips, I didnt notice that. as far as the legs I might tone them down a bit but i wan her curvy and a tiny bit muscular, remember she is a military baby and one hell of an athlete. And im not worried about if she is off balance right now because Im still going to pose her. Thanks for the critique comments everyone keep them coming I'm not an expert character modeler im more of n enviroment guy but I want to learn how to do characters

well, maybe her breasts are a little bit off proportion,... but that dosent mean that this is unreal.
nice start, keep it up!

great start. the concept presentation was nice. i like the breasts from the first model. they were a little more natural.
sazar26
01-11-09, 07:25 PM
Thanks for all the comments guys
To Gordon/Luis - I was aiming for a look as if the suit pushed her breast for support but I will fool around with them some more to see how they look more relaxed thanks
Sup Khalil, even though you are going to have the suit push up the boobs, keep in mind that a more natural appearance still looks good. Her boobs look like she was an A cup that put E implants. Her boobs look too firm, keep in mind you want to sell her body to your audience. So if she is anatomically correct and her appearance looks natural, she will be taken well. Even if you were going for like a plastic porn star barbie look, you have to make things look anatomically correct. You are on the right track but pay lots of attention to the critics you have gotten so far. Lots of luck on your z brush...hit me up if you need some input

After a long week and a half im finally back at school and i can you photoshop to post more updates.
@Fess
I tweaked her hips and trimmed down her legs, how does it look now?
@Gordon V and 3dmob
thanks for the critique I tweaked her boobs some more so they look natural but nothing so far is final and i will continue to work on her portions b4 I move on to detailing muscle

The facial update's very nice. The tweaked proportion looks a lot better. :tu: Seems like it's coming along real well :)
I think her proportions are better, however she still looks a touch off-balance. If you draw a vertical line at the point where ear is connected to the head and all the way down to the feet, I think the center of her anckles should be on that line. I am also not sure about the size of her butt, looks a bit too big to me - or perhaps the curve is too sudden? What are you using for modeling reference?
sazar26
01-12-09, 10:20 PM
Ok i took the move tool and did what you said and i lined her feet up with the bottom of the screen. Haha yea she has some junk in the trunk but Im blk so what can I say! Im not using anything for ref right now but i guess i should pick something to go off of.
measure.jpg
I think that looks better. Keep going! :)
A "Declassified" sheet?!! That's so cool !!
Like the way you use the mesh to map out the design. I plan to try that in my next step after I work on the mesh more.
Are you going to make her look like the photo? She that's a "Hot Slim". :tu: :D
Can't wait to see the suit on her. Nice Profile.

Hey guys I have another update on the body.
Fess- thanks I tweaked her breast and hips/but again
AVTPro-Thanks bro I had a ruff start making it but I think its import to have a presentation page like that for my character. I got the idea from a book i read called Behold a Pale Horse, at the end of it there is a couple of documents like that. I didnt want to spend alot of time drawing her from sctratch so i thought it would be easier to just draw the costume on top of the model.I wanted to use that gurl in the photo but she was lagging on the ref photos that I needed to sculpt her head so I went with the singer Rihanna, I think she has beautiful facial features.
Snoopalu- yes the butt does slope....on some gurls and yes it looks nice, but all girls dont have the same body type and not all guy have the same taste when it comes to women but i did try to make her butt have that slope with out losing to much shape.
Drakelot- thanks bro
Dirkrulz- thanks bro, Im going for a realistic look for her so i dont want to make her body to crazy but i do love the way Joe MAD draws his women.

I like the "junk in the trunk" gives her more originality. I don't know if you know about this site but it is one that I swear by for references, textures, poses and stuff I don't know if you have heard of it here is the link.
http://www.3d.sk/index.php?id=10
There is nudity on it but for artist. they have some free stuff you can look at but if are able to pay for it, I would, it is worth it. Also has a link at the top for reference of comic artist.

looking very sensual sazar. good work on her so far. im liking the sculpting that your doing. my only suggestion would be is the abdomen area to be more defined a tad and the buttox area possibly to be a little more fuller and not so whats the word "j-lo ish". other than that sazar she is turning out to be one sexy broad. i cant wait til she gets her clothing and how she looks in it. kudos. :tu: :tu:

Looking good so far Sazar26,
one thing, the direction and placement of her nipples:
most of the time they make an angle of 45 degrees
with the spine as start point in top view(90° for both) and I think they need to be placed a little more to the outside...
keep it up

Hey Sazar26,
Looks like she's coming along nicely! I'm eager to see how she comes along, and I like that you're going with some more curvaceous proportions--it's easy to get into a lot of the same body types when it comes to action heroes.
I know others are suggesting you use reference -- one thing I often do that helps me is to do a lot of google image searching for particular celebrities who have the types of bodies or faces I'm shooting for. (Celebrities mainly because I can think of names and then search, and there are often large pictures of them!) Also, (and I'm not sure I like what this says about gender roles in our society, but whatever) you're likely to find plenty of actresses in skimpy clothes, which is often close enough to nudity to be helpful for modeling!
I often work with Zbrush next to a Windows Picture Viewer (or Picassa) window with all my images loaded up so I can look at a lot of different images as I work. I definitely recommend it if you haven't tried it!
The introduction is very well worked. Maybe the proportions of the mesh should be changed a little. It's just an opinion. Great job! :D

cacacho-Thanks bro
JHK3D-Thanks bro
wethand-lol Thanks bro
Lucky_1-Thanks bro, I was thinking the same thing about her nipps I think im gonna play with them a little more today
entrop23-Thanks bro , yea right now im using Rihanna face for the model and im using parts from diff sources for the body. And here at school I always work with dual monitors using the WPV its the only way to roll!
ra17-Thanks bro
I wanted to say sorry for all of the spelling eras on my thread, I need to proof read my stuff better.
I posted right now a diff version of her suit with more detail but im not sure if i should go with that version or the orginal idea with a smooth look. Also i dont know if she should have the 4arm armour or without. So I dont, It would be helpful if i could help me decide thanks everyone!!!!!
Today I will be trying to finish up the body and work on the hair using zspheres.
