Villain : Deaf Destiny
Real Name : Nathalie Cocodrillo
Age : 26
deaf11.jpg
Backstory:
As a child Nathalie learned to play the violine and soon it was clear
that she was highly skilled.
She gave concerts in the whole world.
She was a star....
But one fateful day she fell ill...
She got a severe flu and inflammation of the middle ear...
And that´s where her life began to change...
The physicians made a mistake while treating her an she became deaf
- in both ears
Her worst nightmare became reality...
Even if she could still play the violine...she could no longer hear
her own music.
She became reclusive...became depressive.
She gave up on life...because music was the center of her life
and so she drove to the nearby mountains and jumped off a cliff...
But it was not the end...
She woke up..
Had it been weeks or even months??
She didn´t know..
She was laying on some bed in some room...
Her eyes fell onto her right arm and then onto both of her legs
- they were mechanical...
She also wondered about the suit she was wearing...
Nothing was like it had been before and in the flickering light she saw a table in the otherwise empty room...
On top of the table was a cd-player with a note next to it, an odd looking violine and a compatible violine-bow.
She got up and began to read the note...
"Do not ask any questions..play your favourite song while listening to the cd...this is your destiny"
She pressed play and heard people crying.
She heard screams.... shouts of pain... howls of desperation
but she beamed with joy, coud hardly believe it
- she was able to hear again!!!!!!!!!!!
and she took the violine and played her favourite song...
But after a few minutes the screams fell silent.
She still played the violine but she could no longer hear her song...
She began to scream - nothing...
...silence
With rage and despair she hit the cd-player...and accidentially
pressed once again the play-button..
Immediately she heard the same horrible screams...and began to realize
that she could only hear when others are suffering...
She became angry about her destiny and she wanted to spread pain and sorrow...
And so she began to seek revenge from everybody who could hear
music to escape her silent world just a few minutes..
She wanted to make the whole world become deaf.
She became Deaf Desiny...
Abilities
1. The shock wave violine
As soon as she starts to play
everyone who hears her melody is paralyzed and when
the song comes to an end they are deaf
- forever
2. The razor-blade-notes
She can throw them like a boomerang - they always return to her.
They don´t kill....they enter the troath and only cut trough the
vocal chords so the victims can neither sing nor talk anymore..
3. Laser bow
In place of the traditional horsehair that normal bows
are strung with is a laser-string with wich she can play
on the violine or with which she can torture people
to her heart´s content to make them scream...
It cuts flesh and bones as if they were butter.
She especially loves to chop off musicians hands
- so they will never be able to play an instrument again
Debility
She is wearing a metronome which is integrated in her suit.
It´s dictating her heartbeat and the only way to kill her
is to disrupt the metronome´s beat.
But up to now no one was able to find the right frequency...
Among all villians I think this is the worst of all.... say.. I'm a musician and i know about the desperation of getting deaf (My music teacher became deaf)
her story is sooo o sweet.... :D
Fell in love with DD : )

wow what a great morbid story....don't get me wrong I love morbid  . Your story is so unique and awesomely detailed and rich. I really relate to your character... I ended up on the receiving end of a genetic hearing loss that is slowly robbing me of my hearing. It can be so frustrating sometimes  ... but to have some doctor actually mess up and if I lost my hearing due to that I would be really pissed too:evil:   I bet you all are glad to hear me say I can't play the violin lol  . I am now pretty fine with it since I can work a computer and am quite happy in my own little zbrush world lol  . I soooo love your concept art, I am soo envious. Love the note on her forehead. I can't wait to see her finished.
I would give you 5* just for the great story let alone your art, I would give more if I could, just noticed we can't rate these threads like other threads.. well here

Thank you for your compliments ;)
You fell in love with DD :D ????
According to what I have heared she is still single...
Maybe I can pull a few strings for you haha
But I hope for you that she wont use her laser string :D
Seavannah
Thank you so much for your compliments :) :)

I feel very sorry about what you wrote...but I´m glad to hear that you are fine and that you enjoy the ZBrush Community
Sounds like you are addicted to Zbrush..like me:D

Sometimes Zbrush is hard and it takes up a lot of time but it´s soo much fun and there is so much to discover:)
Happy Zbrushing..
and really nice to meet a female fellow:cool:
SolidSnakexxx
Thank you :)
But I´m a little bit terrified that you LOVE her powers  ???
Shall I arrange a meeting for you too ^^ ??

Original concept! There's a lot of potential for some cool sub-tools here. Good luck!

Crotalis
Thank you ;) But I´m a little bit scared of the subtools ^^
But I´ll worry about that later :D
Happy new year

Yes, Moni-Poroni, I'd love to meet her......(^_^) Or at least see her get sculpted as a viciously sexy villain. :tu:
BTW, don't worry about the subtools, the concept is quite easy to grasp.
Love the story of your character, looking forward to seeing what you make of her!

Finally my first Update - only small steps :)
Don´t be surprised about the missing arm
and the incomplete legs...:D
they will be added later as subtools because they´ll be mechanical..
And don´t be surprised about another important missing female part
I will sculpt that later...

I didn´t like the topology in the hips area at all...
might cause problems during the sculpting progress later
so I edited the existing topology a bit...

Looks like a good start from ZSphere... :) I'm sure you won't forget that certain important female part :)

01-02-09, 09:23 AM
Hey Moni! I really like the smoothness you managed to get around the groin region in the base mesh. I often tend to some pinching and/or mesh overlap around the inner thigh/groin section. Any advice?
Edit:
Also glad to see you've decided to delve into the subtools!

SolidSnakexxx
Thanks for the kind comment..
I hope I won´t forget that part
Crotalis
I know what you´re talking about with the overlapping mesh...
I had a lot of trouble with a bad topo mesh just a few weeks ago :D
It made me cry :D
I spent a lot of time to fix that ^^
I would love to give you some advice... and I´ll try..but I just want to let you know that I haven´t much experience ;)
I build my base mesh with the x-symmetry activated...
So the zspheres won´t get twisted...
I think this is important...but I also think you know that already ;)
and I hit the "preview" button a plenty of times ^^
Once I´m happy with the result I hit the "make adaptive skin button"
and edit the existing topology...
to clear minor ( sometimes major^^ ) mistakes in the mesh...
I haven´t a good advice so far :( I´m just learning by doing ^^

Monja, great start,
I think that the edgeflow you had at first is better than the second on,
this because of the V-shape in the pelvic area.
Keep it up

Thanks for the kind comment..and for the tip with the v-shape...
I´ll try to fix that:)

Little update...
I edited the topology again :D I hope it´ll work now
and I started to sculpt a litte bit...
DD-Update 2.1.jpg
Oh...and I have one question...:) how can I change the canvas colour?
Fractalbot
01-03-09, 09:40 AM
Lookin' good... :tu:
btw. you can change the background colour by first selecting a colour and then going to document and pressing the back button... or you can click the back button and drag it onto the canvas to select a colour...
goldo_O
01-03-09, 09:41 AM
Hi Moni Poroni!
You can change the colour of your Background by going into the Document menu. There is a Back buton there. You can either change the colour of your background to the currently selected colour by clicking once on this buton, or click and drag to any point on the canvas to get the colour at this point.
Nice retopology by the way!

I will update tomorrow and post some different views too...
I´m happy to hear you´ve enjoyed the story;)
Happy Zbrushing, This is looking so good.... :tu: I think there's something making noise in the head... maybe you could try a litte mod in the chin, and the upper part of the head to give her a more femenine head... I'll search for the old school notes and send you the auric proportions for female head if you want them, those help me a lot!

Looking like a very good start so far, lady :) The main proportion that needs to be adjusted would be the arm length. I think it needs to be longer just a bit. Other than that this is looking good. :tu:

Lady ...:) :) :)
:D
And I´ want to thank you.... I totally agree with you-
her arm is too short...
It´s hard for me to recognize things like that when I´m sitting in front of it for sooo many hours ^^
I´ve already started with the changes... and I did a lot of other things ...
for example the ears...
but I´ll update tomorrow...
I´ve no clue what time it is in your country...
I´m going to bed right now....:D
Guten err morgen?? :o
Your'e doing great!!
Something I do when working and re-working a lot a single project is try not to see too much what I'm doing (sounds weird, in spanish has a lot more sense...), work it hard and then go for a walk around the desk... seek something to erase the image of your work and then look at it as if it was someone's elses work.
About the notes still Looking for them... Still looking for them.... my room's a real mess right now i've entered again to work... think i'll have to re-work them and upload them  hope I can do it tonight
The Auric poportions of the female head:
If we take the long distance of the eyes, they will be the base square for the grid.
The face width measures 5 squares, including the ears
The face height measures 8 squares, from the chin to the bare head (Hair is not included in this formula, due to the weird japaneese hairstyles)
---- wait a minute??? 5 to 8 proportion??? that is Auric!!!!----
and by the grid, from down to up we have:
Chin
Lower Lips
Nose/Ear Lobules
Middle of the ears, the tiny holes of the ears...
Eyebrows/End of the nose / End of the ears
The eyes width measure.... one square width
as does the nose.
That's all the basic (important) stuff...
A random internet pic with the grid atop of it

THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH for the notes
You are so kind!!!!!:) :)
I can´t believe it....
I should go to bed right now...
but Zbrush won´t let me :D
I hope I can update a new image tomorrow...
with the new proportions:)
-Thank you very much indeed
BTW- "Guten morgen" that´s right ;)

Just try to post something before you get asleep on your keyboard, so that we can admire your work

Moni:
I like where this is going! The hips are very nicely defined imo. One thing though; her left arm doesn't seem quite right to me. It almost looks like the forearm is too short in relation to the upper arm.

Hey Moni I really like your concept and hope you get through to the end.
A few comments which might be able to help you on your venture.
Your head seems to be suffering from what I like to call the 'square' syndrome. I know the look of it because I used to and still do sometimes in the early stages make this mistake.
The problem is that the face (I don't me the whole head just the face) is too big. If you look at a normal persons face you will find that it reaches it's widest point just behind the ears. You can probably also notice that to top of her head is very flat and not rounded like most peoples heads.
If I can make a suggestion which may help you solve this problem, it woul be too select her face, the whole face mouth to eyes and try scaling it down a bit.
There are a few more things I could mention but thought I'd start there. I really like your start and would love to see you reach the end of the project!
I hope this is helps and is constructive,
G

I would bring the ears down a bit as the ear lobe connects with the jaw. The top of the ear should go no higher than the top of the eye. Also bring them out a bit too horizantally. they look tapped down to the head. the neck muscle is a bit too pronounced. makes her look like she has an Adam's apple. Rounding off the cranium is definitely going to help.
Female rendering has very few lines and creases. You can look at any young female superhero to male superhero and see the difference in detail. It is drastic.
Also you could continue to elongate the hips a bit more top side. As that seperates the female hips from a mans hip. That and the slight tilt forward. Look forward to seeing more.

Hey @ll
Today I´ve been working on the arm... and corrected the position of the ellbow ... (I hope so ^^)
Thank you so much ISK-86 ;) for the reference pic :)
I brought the ears a little bit down and made them smaller...but I´ve still much work with them...they still look tapped down on her head too much ^^
I decreased her face a little bit and worked on the shape of her head...
I hope it looks a little bit better now...
She really had a square head gregoconn
but now it looks like an egg to me ?????
Maybe the top of the skull is too high now ???
I´m looking forward to see her with hair
face old new.jpg
Hmm...I also started to reduce her neck muscles...
I hope she hasn´t any longer something that´s looking like an Adam´s apple...
And I also started to give her more hips (I gave her a lot of chocolate last night ^^ well and to be honest with you...I gave myself a lot of too ^^ haha)
And finally I´ve started to sculpt the slight tild forward..

The face looks much better. Much more feminine. The added mass to the hips really came out well. Chocolate is very good.

01-08-09, 10:21 AM
Nice stuff dude. The new face is really better, but still a bit like a sphere.
Push the ears a tad in, go down on the levels and play more with the basic shape before getting in the details. The same happens in the body, it has some awesome shapes going there, but the silhuette is very simple, like an inflated ballon. But I'm liking this so far, I play violin my self :d well at least I used too.
gregoconn
01-08-09, 12:17 PM
That's a great improvement Moni! I'm glad that my comments helped.
I don't think the top of your head is too high! In face you could probably take it a little higher. Another quick note as I notice you mentioned her neck muscles. the sterno - mastoid runs from the clavical behind the jaw I put in a little reference picture for you which might help you see what I mean.
headProportions.jpg
Keep going this is starting to look really nice. I particularly like the shape of her eyes.

Moni-Poroni your doing great! Yeah I also had the problem with either making the head too round, too square, and too eggheaded...lol. This site helped me it has some really good close up reference shots of females and males. I eneded up paying for this site awhile back, worth the money if you can, but for now check out the free samples link at the top. There is also a link on the topmost of the page for Comic references...huh I am going to have to check that out myself it wasn't there before. These pics are also very good for reference textures and the like.

Each of the topmost links on the page have free samples. There is nudity but is not bad, it is for artists. Hope it helps it did me.:D

she´s on a good way to be a erotic female character. I think the mouth is a little bit to much in a kiss pose at the moment. ;)
Good luck

Before I found them, her eyes looked sooo awful ^^ It´s much better now...
I´ll add more details later when I´m finished with the rest...
I´m a little bit scarred ..time is ticking away^^
Still have no clue how I can export the Movie from Zbrush...and how to paint my model later and so on :o
I´ll think about that later... it makes me nervous right now :D
-But I´ve already discovered Tutorials here @ ZBC which might help me when time has come...:)

Hi Moni, good work on the hand, the delicacy of the violinist's hand is all there, I can suggest a couple of easy moves that could improve it though.
The joint on the thumb looks a bit too low, or in another way the end phalanx is too long, or in yet another way the nail doesn't cover enough of the phalanx. Then the little finger looks a bit too small and far away. Last comment, the ending of the index finger seems to rotate towards the thumb, I'd rather have it slightly slanted the other way round.
Just these small things really, as I said you've done very good job there.

Thanks for the progression that you have been showing us. I really like the hands. I think those are coming along very well. I love the eye also. I am looking forward to seeing the progress.
She is looking hot!!
I like the way the face is shaping up. Look up the zygomatic arch in a anatomy book and that might help you define the face a bit to reduce the sphere"ness" of it. That bone defines the cheeks and the side of the head near the temple. Seeing it on a skeleton may help.
I am no expert, just a thought for you. I am loving your progress.

I´m really glad you´re back:) ´
You think I´m learning fast??? Ummmmm... well I have to..
I give my best :)
I think I should be finished with the whole sculpting+transposing process no
later than 1.2.2009.... so I´ll have almost 2weeks left for learning how to render...get some high quality image and how to paint:D
BTW-> "das ist wirklich für mich nützlich"
right :tu: :) BUT you have to change the order of a few words
-> "das ist wirklich nützlich für mich"
That´s it;)
Here´s another little update
I´ve started with the subtools
First I´ve started to change the design of the mechanical arm...
I didn´t like the old one on my concept sketch :)
I´ve already known that as I´ve been drawing the sketch...
But I´ve had no other idea at this point...
and I hope that´s ok when I´m going to change it...:qu:
I´ve tried some different styles in the past night
( I couldn´t sleep because it´s fullmoon here  so what could have been better than starting a Z-ession :) )
I finished the first part for the half side for her forearm...
The space in between will be covered later with wires...poles of metal and an hydraulic system.. well... I hope so:D
I´ve played a little bit arround with the startup 3D meshes...
( zylinder + cone + ring )
and I really fell in love with those spikes...
So I´m going to put three of them horizontally down on the armor part of each of her knees...and some others on her mechanical heels...
so the mechanical parts will match together :)
DD-arm part -1.jpg
c+c are more than welcome.

Hey Moni! The hand close-up looks awesome! I'm also glad to see that you did end up using subtools! The Clef is a really great idea IMO.
If I had one comment I might suggest that her hips are a little too wide for her torso.
I can't wait to see your other subtools!

01-13-09, 05:09 PM
Great hands Mooni. I like the treble clef thing you made. Really great use of the zspheres. I love the mechanical cuff you have made so far and love the spikes, too.... wouldn't want to get hit with those lol...Thats one way to keep the baddies from messing with her wires. keep it up you will have this done in no time. :D

Gohanf22
Thank you :) Of course I can show you how I made the cuff...
(but keep in mind that it´s not allowed to copy things in this challenge...^^)
But well... I simply used the primitives..like everybody could do...
maybe you could add or change something that it´s going to look totally different in the end :) I think this would be ok?
Just let me now when you need help...
But I´ll need a little time to translate that correctly:D

and I really love them BUT my system doesn´t ^^
Thank you for the advice regarding the hips...
I´ll fix the whole body stuff after the posing process.

Hey ;) thank youuu
Well...I wouldn´t want to get hit by those spikes too   haha^^
Do you really think I get done in time...?
Thank you for the kind words..;)
but I bother about a lot of things...
I´m sure I´ll have to ask a lot of questions in a few days....
But I hope I´ll find the most answers somwhere here at the ZBC...
so that I won´t have to annoy somebody:D

Thank you :) See you later.
Update
First- I´ve changed the look of the spikes.
I like the new style much more
Hope you too ?
If not -please let me know...
c+c are always welcome....hope you know that ;)
DD-spike.jpg
DD-spike+frame.jpg
in combo with the cuff
DD-new forearm part.jpg
I also sculpted another subtool for the arm...
I´ve used two cylinders..played a little bit with the deformation settings..
merged them together..
and added the rings with the radial symmetry :)
I really fell in love with this function:tu:
DD-subtool arm.jpg
First I thought about using several ring primitives for it...but I´m a little bit scarred of having tooo man subtools in the end....
I know Zbrush can handle that...but I´m pretty sure my system can´t
Well..if I´ve got too many subtools ( I proved that yesterday ) and try to rotate my model than it takes sooo much time :(
I´ve the same problem when I mask for example the arm and try to blurr the mask or inverse it...
My screen becomes white! than I´ve always to wait a few seconds...
only then I can continue posing....
I really worry about making the transpose movie....:(
Last but no least I´v started with the legs...
I´ve built the base mesh with my dearly beloved Zspheres :)
( first time I´ve used them I became desperate :) but I really love them now )
zsphere boot.jpg
Let me know what you think
Again- c+c are more than welcome...
maybe somebody can give me an advice concerning the lots of subtools...
and how to fix the problem with the transpose movie...?
Thank you in anticipation.

that cuff is really cool..
the body keeps getting better.....keep going
SolidSnakexxx
01-13-09, 10:30 PM
Nice update and great subtool addition. For my experience posing with Trnspose. The transpose master plugin really helps a lot...as when you do so, the plug in will set all your subtools at lowest subdiv...that means freeing a lot of system resource and allows you to be working on pose smoothly.
The thing you might want to consider would be if your subtools doesn't have the subdivision levels, while it does help in enabling you to pose multiple subtools at once...but the system will really be straing...and I think there's a limit on the polysize as well when you click to temporry combine subtools for transposing. So my suggestion would be (at least in my character)
1. Most of the subtools would have multiple subdivisions (In my Mantis Man case only the hair will not have subdiv and they never get subdivided).
2. For other things that I create by extraction, I'd do the retopology process. So they also have subdiv levels.
3. the body after retopology would hold good topoline for transposing while having high subdiv for holding the detailed sculpt. (For me the body if the resolution is too low...it's going to b ehard to pose as well)
Then when you use Transpose master, your subtools will get to the lower subdiv and still have enough detail for posing. :)

I hope they get this fixed for you soon :( couldn't of happened to a nicer person. I know life can throw those curve balls right when you don't need it to happen. I feel your pain  . Last year on the scared silly contest my computer went haywire and I lost all info I had on it thank god I had some of it on a external hard drive. You should not lose any of your models that were saved but unfortunately you can't open them till this is resolved. If you haven't alreadymake sure you copy your files to something else, external hard drive, another computer, cd's or something else so that you will never have to worry about them being lost. If you saved them to a file within the zbrush files make sure you move them if you have to redownload zbrush weird things can sometimes happen and may overwrite your files, most do not though, but I wouldn't take that chance. I hope things will go better for you soon. I really think even with this you will be able to finish and on time. Your superhero tells me that you are just as strong willed as she and I think you have great potential in modeling, one day you will see it. Breathe, relax and hang with your dogs everything will be alright. :D

do you have installed the newest quicktime version?

Well I am glad that you got you license sorry sweetie to hear about the movie stuff I hope that your sister's comp will help. Will try finding out something about it as well, I have had some problems not exactly like yours but somewhat similar with the distorting of pictures I can't remember what I had to do. Movies I save are usually in .mpeg .AVI or QuickTime format because most players will play these files. I don't know if that helps or not will look for some info on it. I absolutely love the razor blade notes really great clean sculpt I am truly impressed. oh are you using a Mac or PC? Got demons in your computer, huh have you tried threatening your comp sometimes that works too it's kind of weird how it does but if nothing else it will relieve some stress lol :D

Thank you, you are sooo sweet :)
"Movies I save are usually in .mpeg .AVI or QuickTime format because most players will play these files."
Hm...well the problem isn´t a Zbrush problem..I´m sure about that because this happend to nobody except me
And I think the only way to export theZbrush movie is with quicktime... ??
And this weird things happen if I try to watch it with quicktime.
So I think I have a huge problem with the quicktime player...
Logically (I think so ^^) this problem will get solved if I use my sisters PC.
Hmmm... let´s wait until tomorrow... :) I hope there are no demons in her PC too
Thank you for the help..and thank you for the kind compliment ;)

New update
I hadn´t much time today...family gathering ( dinner ) :)
But here´s what I´ve got so far...
I´ve started with the mechanical legs.... the base is made with Zspheres...
but there´s a lot of work for tomorrow... I´ll add wires and stuff like that (in the whole metalic grey area )to get a more mechanical look...
They are just looking like ...freaky boots so far

And I´ve tried to use Zapplink.. BUT...guess what... I can´t use it ^^

So there are no high quality images available in my thread so far :)

Moni, have you done any more work to her head? Are you going to model individual eyelashes, or just a shaped mass? Just curious how your were going to approach that.
Moni-Poroni
01-17-09, 04:31 PM
I´m working on her head right now...:)
But I´m still unhappy with that....
I´ve added the clef to her fore head...
But I´ve still much work with the ears..the lips...and her whole mimic..
she looks like a dead doll  no life in there  and too artifical...
dd-clef head.jpg
Oh..and yepp I´ll add individual eyelashes made from zspheres...
I think that´ll look much better... :)
c+c are more than welcome...especially concerning the head ;)
jp_smith
01-17-09, 04:43 PM
Moni - I think you have some slight proportion and shape issues. Her brow ridge seems a little bit sharp and abrupt for a female. The lips seem overly pursed as opposed to pouty (which is what I think you were going for). The head itself seems a little too round from the front, I'd push it in on the sides a bit. Obviously you need to get the ear pulled off her head a little. You could probably pull up her head a tad from the mid nose up, this would help add some volume to the top of her head and make the nose not look quite so short. Her eye shape could also use a bit of tweaking as well but that's hard to describe, if you would like you could give me a shot of the front and side of her head and I could do a paint-over, to illustrate the points I'm talking about? :)

Moni-Poroni, big update there. And looking sharp with the note on the forehead. :) And I feel the pain for losing your work... But cheer up think of it as a practice like I try to do.....
The head's coming right along I think the area that you want to check (which you already know) would be the ears that need to be pulled out of the head some more. I kind of like the eyes on the previous post better...as I think the latest post, the lower part of the eye's just too curved.. (But again that's my view) However, the overall progress is excellent :)

Update
First I´ve got to tell you something
Quicktime works like a charm:tu:
I´ve tried it for the last time ( on my PC )
And    eeeeehhhh... LOL... IT WORKED:lol:
I don´t know why! I didn´t change anything!
Hmm... really funny :)
But I still can´t record the transpose movie because of the white/grey screen.
But ok there are a few days left... and I´m pretty busy with the subtools.
Maybe I´ll be lucky again

btw, moni, just tell me if im being annoying or im being cynical. if you dont like being called sweetie or hun or anything like that, plz tell me. i always say that to friends of mine that are women. second nature. :)
Edit: oh and wethand, you dont need to listen to my advice. lol. im not very good with women. :o
Wow, great boots, I love how you are creating all these elements, excellent work dude!!:)
Just wondering how do you get those hard edges? I am trying to get some details on my boots, but the lines seem always to be either wobbly or just can't get a slight shadow on the edge.
Keep at it! :tu:
Seavannah
01-20-09, 08:32 AM
She is really coming along nicely. I am glad your movie is working. Sorry about taking so long I got the flu. I didn't find too much on the problem that you had, but had a crash in zbrush and it corrupted my file now it won't open and the thumb nail for the model looks alot like the squished sphere you had. I know it doesn't have anything to do with it but I thought it was interesting and it has never happend like that before.
When I had somthing like this awhile ago I had to change the compression rate in the quicktime preferences. I was using 3ds max and quicktime at the time and it distorted my model.
Keep up the great work. Love those heels. Those are some really great boots. And I really like how her face is developing she looks like she's got attitude.

Thank you for the kind compliment :) I´m glad to hear that you like the pieces... because you have so damned cool subtools ;)
SolidSnakexxx
Thank you for the kind compliment mister :)
Yepp...I get this greyish screen while I try to record the transpose movie.
That´s the problem :(
I´m patient... but I don´t know if the judges are patient too...
must be very "interesting"... 5 sec transpose action...and 30 sec a frozen scene
I´m absolutely sure that my system can´t handle that.. neither rotating the high res model without subtools..nor the transpose-master-version of my model with the subools with their low sub div lvl...:(
In worst case I´ll be only able to show just the posing progress of her body (without her legs and all the subtools) and I don´t know if that is a key phase. But I keep on thinking positive. The only thing wich could stop me would be if somebody switchs off the current:lol:
Thank you that you´ve tried to help me..
I really appreciate that.:)
Gohanf22
Thank you for your kind compliment:)
Maybe you can tell me what you think about the leg when
its finished :) I think to curve it afterwards wouldn´t be a problem if it´s still looking weird then.
pitchepuck
Thank you for the kind compliment :)
I´m glad to hear you like it :)
spimmy
Hey thank you for the kind compliment:)
You´re wondering how I get this hard surface stuff :) ?
Ok...I´ll try to explain it...
-don´t get me wrong..it´s pretty easy...it took me about 2 minutes per piece
the only problem might be my translation....:o
But I´ll try my very best.
::
I´ve used one of the primitives (cylinder)
before you hit the "Make Polymesh 3D" button you can play with the initialize settings at the bottom on the right
( I say play becaue there´s so much to discover:) . What you can do depends on the current primitive tool)
::
Then hit the "Make Polymesh 3D" button
::
Activate the symmetry in the transform Palette
x/y or z... -depends on where you want to work on your model..but I think you know that:)
:: Hit (R) -radial symmetry ( oh I love it :cool: )
I´ve used 10 or 12 something like that..
::
Now the fun begins :)
I´ve used the standard brush... Zsub... or Zadd...whatever you want to do:)
Stroke: Drag Rect.
Alpha: 28 (square)
That´s it :)
----------
I really don´t know why so many people here say that hard surface stuff is´so hard to do with Zbrush. So far there´s been no limit for my creations :)
There are about 12731284712348134 possibilities with combining alphas..brushes... symmetry...
Just be creative ;)
Hope my explanation was helpful
Give it a try spimmy.. I´m sure you´ll like it :)
Seavannah
Thank youuuu Seavannah for the kind compliment :) :) :)
I´m sorry that you got the flu :(

hm..nothing special about that but I try to make it believable
It´s just a test pose.. the hands and fingers are absolutely not correct for playing the violine :D

I love everything but when you bring your attention to the lips well then you end up not loving everything. Yeah but the lips are a quick fix so no worries.
Wow, she's looking great :o , the hair is looking awesome!! :tu:

Great all round sculpt. The hair and pose really give a great sense of movement.:D :tu:

the model is getting very good but you should look more carefully to the hair. it should start of the head to the edges. Would be better.

I love the way you designed her hairstyle. Very dynamic and I think also purposeful as line of action.
Reminds a bit of Botticelli's Birth of Venus (Adobe Illustrator logo).

Looking good. I would just make sure that thr upper lip is sticking out farther than the bottom lip. Something a lot of people miss.
That hair is great!! gives the pose a lot of strenght (even though she hasn't arms yet  )
How on earth are you going to do the shockwave violin????
Yes... frozen fingers in mexico, where I live we have a cozy -3° at nights, nothing compared with antartican temperatures, but it's too cold for me

That boot is killer! And i mean that in the best way possible. I think the super-high stilletto is really sexy. Jealous of your hard surface abilities. I love the dynamic hair too; I hope mine ends up working like that.
I agree with the comments about the lips, but it looks like you've got ideas for the makeup that are going to make it look different than the sculpt. I'm interested in seeing how that turns out.
Good luck!

-------------------------------
The reason why I´m posting today without a new update: I have a question..
New problem
I´ve tried to start correcting the lips... but my topology is so bad that my mesh gets ripped apart then.
I´m not able to sculpt in that area.. and I´ve already reached the maximum of polys which my sytem can handle... -about 4.200.000:rolleyes:
What I´v tried to do -> edit existing topology...
I found that page with a really good tutorial
http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Topology:_Mesh_Editing#Introduction
I´ve already edited an existing topology in the beginnig of this contest.
but I didn´t know how a good topology should look at that time:o
And here´s my problem:
It doesn´t work now
The Zsphere doesn´t disapear..
and on the top on the right side it looks like that
DD-edit topo problem.jpg
I don´t know what´s the problem..I think I´m making a mistake, or
maybe this is the reason:
Unfortunately I deleted the lower subdivs of my model last week
and on top of that I overwrote the file.
I think I did..I´ve just recognized it yet
And I can´t do the whole work again.
Total Polys of my actual lowest subdiv lvl (74.480)
I´m thankful for any advice:)

Sorry to hear that dude, it was going so well too. Hope you find out what happened.

01-23-09, 02:48 PM
Moni, one option to get more resolution would be to chop up your model into different subtools where the costume breaks it naturally, and have the costume elements be subtools that cover the seams. Judging by your concept it looks like you could to this at the breast area or the hips? Just an idea. :)
pitchepuck
01-23-09, 02:49 PM
ach du scheiße...äh ich meine...oh ****
first of all you have to reconstruct the lower subdevisions. I told you how to do this...
after that you only have to go to a mid devision of your object. than smooth the mouth area a bit to relax the mesh. and finally reproject higher subdevisions in folder "geometry"
I would try this... good luck
maxinkuk
01-23-09, 02:53 PM
Yes, to get your lower levels use "reconstruct subdiv" that's in the geometry palette. If that doesn't work it means that you have to enable UVs in the texture palette (the one inside the Tool palette).
gabo1991
01-23-09, 02:57 PM
Moni
You can reconstruct your lowest level in the geometry pallete just like maxinkuk told ya. I have never seen this before. Can you give a step by step screen shot of what you are doing? Need more info.
Be careful about splitting up your face into subtools. Remember when you divide the seams will move. If you are going to go this route make sure to turn smooth off in the geometry palette.
Paul
jp_smith
01-23-09, 02:58 PM
yeah Max and Pitch are right, reconstruct subdivisions works great, you can slide topology around your mesh too with the nudge tool if you need to tweak your edge flow a little. :)

01-23-09, 03:01 PM

Paul...Ok...I´ll give you a step by step screen shot..

You´ve never seen this before? Seems like this weird things only happen to me..
Reconstruct doesn´t work...
But I´ll make a screen shot too (maybe I´m making mistakes)

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE QUICK HELP :)
Reconstruct doesn´t work...
But I´ll make a screen shot too (maybe I´m making mistakes)
make sure enable UV's is turned on in the texture palete, then try it.
Moni-Poroni
01-23-09, 03:37 PM
This is where I´ve tried to reconstruct... (I didn´t know if I need to delete the higher subdivs or if I don´t need to..but I tried both-it doesn´t work)
recosntruct.jpg
.....
This is how I´ve tried to edit the topology (don´t know if my workflow is correct..I did that only two times so far)
1-I load my model
2-Zsphere
3-Rigging-select mesh
4-choose my model and then this happens (before I come to the point to press anything in the topology palette)
dd-screenshot topo.jpg
weird zsphere.jpg
maxinkuk
01-23-09, 03:42 PM
After "rigging>select mesh" you have to hit "topology>edit topology".
At that point you click on the viewport twice, to select and then deselect the mesh, this is done to avoid connecting points to the central point that belongs to the Zsphere. At this point you're ready to start laying off points over your mesh.
But it may be that "reconstruct subdiv" didn't work because you didn't have UVs enabled in the Texture palette. Have you checked that?
Moni-Poroni
01-23-09, 03:44 PM
Thank you..:) I have tried to hit the edit topology button then..
but that makes no difference
This weird thing is happening BEFORE I come to this point..
hmmmm

01-23-09, 04:16 PM
Ok..restartet Zbrush... and tried it again (to reconstruct)
it works :) :tu: :tu: :tu:
Must have been my fault :o But I still think about what I´ve done wrong with the topology.
Thanks again for the help.

01-23-09, 07:02 PM
Hey, Moni-Poroni, glad you have resolved the issue while I was slumbering in my bed (^_^) Just so you know the reconstruct subdiv
1. You don't need to delete the higher level of subdiv but need to stay at the lowest where you want the program to try to reconstruct for you
2. UV Should be enabled
3. Sometimes, it might not be able to reconstruct due to the fact that it has reach the lowest already or the mesh has 3 sided polygon (a tri)

Moni, her body is looking really fabulous. Nice work. The lips are vastly improved, her butt is amazing, and the bottoms you made are really cool and sexy. :tu: :tu: One suggestion I have is that you might want to carve away a little of the ribcage under her breasts, I did a quick paintover to illustrate.... You're really knocking this out of the park. :)

There's something im afraid of: sculpting/drawing the feminine body, and you're doing it sooo great... Guess you have a good reference just by looking into a mirror :lol::lol::lol:

If you disagree I won't take offense. The human ribcage does start narrower up by the collarbone and then gradually fans out as it moves down the body. This is just my observation of your model, so please take it with a grain of salt...she's your baby. :)

It is true that the ribcage needs correcting but she's a very pretty girl anyway.
Is that a particular tune?
Another curiosity, do you play music and/or have a little sister studying violin? I'm intrigued by the character maybe because my practicing saxophone over many years probably rendered deaf many of my neighbors. ;)

Heya Moni this is looking really nice! I'm quite impressed at where this is going.
I'd suggest having 5 strings instead of 3, that way your notes will be places as if one music.
I agree about having five strings as the clef lines (I think they're called like that), and it would be really nice to write there a tune :cool::cool:
Wow, that looks awesome!! :) The clothes design is really nice, I'm loving it, looking very sexy indeed :o
