Hey there Mooni love her new cloths  :tu: . Love the stings with notes on them. Great job  :tu: . Sorry:o about not being around for this last week it's was my fiancées bday this weekend and had lots of stuff to do and a few guests.
Sorry to hear about your new zdemons. I have a tut made by Rastaman that may help ya on her lips. I had same problems with mine but her ears nose and hands also. This helped me and you don't have to go into topology again as long as you have a good topology base to start out with.
Project Morph: This option allows the user to relax their mesh and remove polygon stretching created by using the Pinch Brush or lots of the Tweak (move) Brush and it will help relax your mesh in her lips so that they won't go wonko on ya.
 To use Project Morph do the following:
1. Set your geometry level to the highest level your model has. For this example, let's say level 5. If you have layers already make a new one on the level that they are already if not make two at highest level she has just in case. Any time I do some major detailing a make a new layer.
2. Store a morph target by pressing Tool: Morph Target: StoreMT. Save your model.
3. Go down 2 levels of resolution to level 3 and delete all higher levels of resolution by pressing Tool: Geometry: Delete Higher. Don't worry, your hi-rez geometry is still there because we stored a morph target.
4.Smooth out the area you want to 'relax' with the Smooth Brush . Save your model.
5. Divide two more times to return your model to resolution level 5 or the highest level that your model had on it before the morph target.
6. Set the Tool: Morph Target: Project Morph slider to 100. This will project the morph target with the stretched polygons into your current smooth mesh. The result is a 'relaxed' mesh.
Make another layer. now you can smooth lightly some of the puckerness down and shape them again. If it gets messy again repeat all the steps as you did before with updated lip model to get a relaxed mesh.
Here are his tuts on topology, zprojection, and morph targeting they have been very help full to me.
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/member.php?u=31731 (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/member.php?u=31731)
All of his tuts are great. The first two can help you with the topo and transferring details you already made on her and to fix messy z-lips :D . Good luck to you and hope it helps :D .

Thanks again for the great help!:) :tu:
Iīve tried to correct the ribcage issue ..but I donīt know if itīs better now?
maxinkuk
Thank you for the kind compliment.:)
No itīs not a particular tune..:)
I think that would be a little bit too short :D ?
And regarding the other question-
I can play several instruments.. well not that good..but thereīs nobody who became deaf so far :)
But I canīt play the violine :(
Iīd love to...but it sounds terrible :o
But I have my fathers violine as reference:)
SolidSnakexxx
Thank you for the kind compliment mister. Iīm always glad to hear you like it :)
gregoconn
Thank you for the kind compliment :)
Iīve tried it at the very beginning with five strings instead of three
-but it looked odd.
Either the strings have been too thin - or there have been strings only:) and no more skin between them.
So it should just remind of those lines.
But thank you very much for the suggestion :)
ISK-86
Thank you too for the suggestion regarding the stave lines (theyīre called like that in my dictionary :p )
Hm..it would be nice to write there a tune??
Well..that would be probably your first and last time;) !

Iīve started with the base for the robo arm...

Great update there, Moni-Poroni. She's looking more complete than ever... :tu: As you already know the fingers may need some small Z rubbing. and yes, sometimes, from certain angle the tiny finger looks a bit odd. The final piece's going to be grander.

Hey ;) Thank you for the kind compliment Seavannaaaah :)
The things youīre writing are simply delightful :)
Thank you!
-----------------------
The reason why Iīm posting without a new update...
-> as always : a question :)
Iīve tried to hide a part of my model...
and I did something wrong with theShift and/or the Ctrl key..so the green (mask?) became grayish :)
what happend.jpg
Iīm sure this isnīt an issue...
But Iīm very curious what I can do with it ?:)
And how can I get the green mask back ?
Thank you :)

01-29-09, 07:18 AM
Hey there. I think what you just activated was "Stencil" So all you have to do is go to Stencil>Stencil On to deactivate it
:)

-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
Iīve been very busy with reading Zbrush tutorials the whoooole weekend!!!
No party..but even though - NOOO SLEEEP!! :)
I came to a conclusion : Iīve made sooo many mistakes!!
If I would have read all those tutorials earlier - probably everything would have been so much easier! :)
Aaaaah and ooooooooOOOOO    - thatīs what Iīve said a hundred times :D !!!
For example as Iīve discovered the projection master and the crease and edge loop functions in the geometry tool palette!!!:)
Well... Iīve seen those buttons before ...but I didnīt pay any attention to them ( looked too complicated ^^).
MONSTER MISTAKE:) :) :) !!!!
Creating hard surface stuff is so easy now! ( But getting a clean look is still hard for me..^^)
spimmy - remember..? Youīve asked me how Iīve created the subtools with hard edges.
Well..of course you can get cool tools by using the (radial) symmetry combined with alphas..or using the deformation tool palette and masking and so on...
But with the functions in the geometry tool palette
(crease button I love you ;))
you can get some awesome hard edges :) !!!
And you can get them where you want ...even without symmetry ...^^LOL
( Hope thatīs right what I tell you. Anything wrong ?
So please let me know. Thanks :) )
Wow...still canīt believe that Iīve simply ignored those functions. :o
Of course Iīm not satisfied with my subtools anymore :)
And Iīll make completly new robolegs.
Iīll change the complete style.
Thatīll be so much extra work..but I have to do it...otherwise Iīd be angry with myself.
Well... it serves me right. :D
I wonīt ignore anything in the future...I PROMISE :) :) :) LOL!
............................
Update time :)
Iīve revised the violine... To be honest: Iīve chosen this shiny material that Iīve used before for only one reason -the optical illusion. ;)
(It had only 15.000 Polys. I didnīt want higher subdiv. lvls. because I wanted to keep the more or less hard edges LOL LOL LOL...)
NOW I KNOW THE CREASE BUTTON hahahaha
.....
Ok ..enough talk ;)
Hereīs the violine WIP
1DD-violine wip 1.jpg
And hereīs an image of an original violine...because I donīt know the name of the things so I did a little paintover :)

........................
Iīve been also busy with learning how to make a movie. :)
How to add music..and how to cut scenes...
it was really funny..:)
But I donīt want to be a movie maker ;)
Well..after the quicktime problem that Iīve had I thought that I would never ever get that managed...but I did. :)
The only remaining problem is youtube...
Iīve started with uploading 3!!!!hours ago..
For a 2 min. video ?????
Is that normal?? Iīve never done this before.
Ok..wait and see...
Hope I can post it later. :)
C+C are more than welcome. Thank you.

02-03-09, 01:25 PM
hey moni!
it was just a tip... my opinion. but i think it looks much better now...
and the detailing looks nice, too!
your youtube problem... hm... it depends on the intenet speed (?) how fast you can upload vids. and on the actual size...
like i told you, it took me today 4 hours... but that was a 9 minutes vid...
just let it load (until it breaks... :P)
yeahyeah... du und rechna.... ^^
Nice to se your'e having so much Z-fun....
Hard surfaces ara most of zbrushers headace... (if thats how it's spelled)
Here in mexico it's... 1:40 am... I finally finished working and it's time to read some of my favourite threads :)
Youtube's vids.... well they are not what they used to be... the only way to upload those (at least here in mexico) is getting a nice compressor (there's one called "QUick media COnverter") and convert to a FLV file... so it transmits quicker
Good luck moni... hope you get in the best ten :D:D:D:D
Thanks on the tips Moni :tu: :) , I will definately try out the crease button soon :) .
Nice details you're doing there, love the No.03 elements alot  (Whatever those things are called :) ).

Thank you again. :)
spimmy
No problem. :) Just wanted to let you know. But if youīre going to try it...read some of the tutorials here..so you can be sure itīs right.. and you canīt blame me then.. ;)

I tremble with excitement right now... -> youtube video.
If it wonīt work.. I donīt know what to do..
First an image of the final violine:
DD-final violine.jpg
Ok...and hopefully hereīs the video
Itīs just a test-video..
"The violine - making of"
Iīve tried to add some music...
and it should be no surprise that Iīve chosen......
A VIOLINE SONG ;)
Usually I love the classical songs.. but I thought something more rebellious would fit better to her...:)
Lol..I had to laugh out loud because itīs a perfect match
-> Smooth criminal :lol:
( The violine-rock version from David Garrett - an half american-half german violine player;) )
But please feel free to turn the music off if you donīt like it.

Very nice ZSphere video... :tu: By the way when you are embedding a Youtube video all you have to do is typing
{youtube}eMmYEDjhjyQ{/youtube}
and replace "{" with "[" and "}" with "]"
the value "eMmYEDjhjyQ" you will be getting from the URL like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMmYEDjhjyQ
you will then get this:

Then Iīll work on the hair..and a little bit here and a little bit there..:)
I still donīt like the lips.
Hopefully Iīll finish the sculpting phase tomorrow... so that I can start with the Polypaint...:)

Nice update Moni, it's good to see her all assembled. Couple of things:
1) I know her right arm is somewhat mechanical, but I feel she still needs some kind of a deltoid/pec attachment since it just looks off that this cylinder arm is just kind of shoved into her toso.
2) the left arm seems oddly bowed out at the bicep area.
3) She needs to be able to support her own weight in a 3d print, so I'd consider revising her pose so she can stand on her own (right now she'd fall over for sure) or use something from the base you're going to make to secure her lower body.
Hope this is helpful, she's looking really amazing, you've really come a long way. :)
DD.new update1_js.jpg
Wow, she's looking really hot :o, love the boots and the mech arm really nice details on those, awesome stuff moni!!! :tu: :tu: I agree with jp_smith about the upper arms, but it's definately looking awesome :) . Also thanks for the compliments. glad you liked my final entry :) .

Wow she looks great, excepting the arms need a little surgery. I will bring her flowers and chocolate when she's out.
I really really really love the style of clothing you sculpted and those boots are deadly cool. Love her face and her hair. She looks killer over all including her pose.
I hope to see you in the top twentyfive. Good luck alothough I don't think your gonna need it. I am very glad to have met you and your creation. Ama-z-ing job.:D

Yahhh...youīre absolutely right!
And I found about 100 other things that arenīt correct or look odd... lol..but I donīt have any time left to fix all.:)
I donīt know how long itīll take to render the turntable.. never done this before...and I have to do a speed Polypaint... :)
But Iīve tried to correct the right arm and Iīve added something to the left arm... I hope thatīs kind of what youīve meant?
I couldnīt find the translation for "deltoid/pec "...:) ???
Oh and yes...I know what you mean with "she'd fall over for sure" :)
yes..she would..:)
Iīve made a little paintover (the base)
-the base is the reason why Iīve chosen this pose...
although I know itīs not an action pose...;) and nobody would play the violine in that pose :) ...
Iīve learned a lot...and Iīve made a lot of mistakes..
Oh how I hate her lips! I know what Iīll try to learn after this contest - correct anatomy. :)
and I hope I wonīt make the same mistakes again.
Thank you soooo much for all the great help Jason. Youīre a good teacher! :)

Little Update
Iīv tried to correct a few mistakes-
there are too many to get everything fixed in time.
And Iīve started with learning how to Polypaint my model..... :)
Iīll post first results tomorrow.. I donīt like what Iīve done so far.;)
-but I know now how it works. (more or less :) )
Well... I just realized that Iīve "wasted"... more than 3 weeks or so with making mistakes. :) But I donīt call it "wasted time"..cause Iīve leaned a lot for my future projects. :)
Ok...donīt have much time to talk today...;)
so hereīs the new pic...hope itīs better now?

Nothing spectacular but despite that.. I hope Iīll have enough time left to make it.

Iīve chosen only black+white (note design ^^) and turquoise with the glow material (wethand..helloooo  )

I like the hard contrast between the colors on the boots!!

Iīm not sure how to solve that...
And I didnīt want to wast time..so Iīve started with the polypaint...

Thank you for the suggestion maxinkuk. :)
Edit: pitchepuck... yaaaaah you got me too!
Without the render the skin looks ok... donīt know what to do...
Havenīt tried something with the light settings so far...

02-11-09, 06:49 PM
Hey mooni great update.
Here's my sugestion for the skin. Take the standard brush turn off zadd and turn on only rgb. grab a color slightly less dark than your skin texture. make sure not too much white or yellow as these tend to make some bad renders. color spray stroke and alpha 07 or 08. spray lightly on your model. You can play with the RGB slider and or the focal shift to get different results. If it comes out too strong in some places take the smooth brush turn off zadd and have RGB only on, with smooth you can also use the colorspray stroke and alphas to smooth it out and give you good results.
Also one trick to render scene without you color going crazy. Go into light pallet and play with the amibent light and intesity. Also the type and weather or not to have it radial or not. You really have come along way in this contest, and your model shows you have great potental to becoming a wonderful 3d artist. My first models didn't even look 1/4 as good as yours does. Hope this helps and good luck she really is looking great and you really are doing great, keep it up.
Wow, really nice colour choices there buddy!! :tu: :tu: The skin is looking nice too from what can be seen, look forward to seeing the rest of her all painted up!! :tu:
The boots are cool!
Regarding the monsters... you really have a reason to go crazy on monster stuff after this contest: Deaf Destiny needs some adversaries to fight! You owe her that much! :tu: !

Lol..yes.. I have to make some monsters. :)
Well..I love fantasy stuff and creatures...but I also love traditional things...
Iīd love to make some animals..or people.. but I know thatīs too hard for me now.
I have to learn more..and I have to learn faster. :)
-------------------
UPDATE
Hereīs a little upate.
I still didnīt fix the problem with the legs.
And I still have to sculpt the hair on her backhead.
And after that I have to refine the Polypaint. Itīs just a basic colour so far.
Iīve started with the base...The white ..umm...strings... are made of Zspheres..
as you can see they are on their lowest subdiv. level...
and hereīs the problem...
I had never problems with the Zsphers...
but if I try to get a higher subdiv.level (smt turned on)... the mesh is exploding.
Also when I try to smooth the "strings"...
So I definitely made a mistake..but I donīt know when.
After Iīve made the adaptive skin I clicked on "make PM3D" as usual..
Iīm thankfull for every advice. :)

yeeehaaa... Iīm finished... my thread is closed :D itīs done... phhuuuu...
and what did you do with the mesh ?????? :o
das sieht gar nicht gut aus ...
sometimes ZB is very sensible... this happend to me too. there is no reason I think.
If you have still the z.sphere object, try again to make a mesh.
mehr kann ich dazu auch nicht sagen... durchhalten !!!!!!

Hmm I don't know what happened to your base. Weird stuff like that happens to me if i import a model that already has subdivisions from Max but I know you only use zbrush so I have no idea. Sorry. Your turntable is gorgeous, so elegant and beautiful it's the first time I've seen it in 360 like this. On the paint side I think you might want to give her hair some highlights...masking by cavity then blur it once is a good technique to start you out on something like that, then fill with a lower rgb intensity and build up till you get it to the color you want. Just an idea. :)

02-12-09, 04:43 PM
Hi Moni, the turntable looks excellent.
I had exactly the same problem with Zspheres when I did my wave, the mesh exploding just like this and I don't know why. I tried everything but the problem remained and every move was making it more and more awkward, at the end I reverted to keeping it very simple and then retopolgize.
But then I did similarly twisted meshes with Zspheres for other elements and had no problems. My best guess is tht's one of those tempremental bugs that sometimes kicks in and some other times don't. Try restarting and see how it goes.

Hey Moni-Poroni, Your models is looking fantastic!
I had this same problem with many parts of my model and may have a solution for you. There kind of a lot to it
First go back to a version of the tool before it exploded.
In the masking pallet click "clear" Like twenty times.
Try unifying your mesh in the deformations pallet.
This will make you model really small, when you re transpose it into place, do it at the highest sub d level, making sure that no parts of the model are being "left behind."
Try that, hope it helps, really annoying problem.
SolidSnakexxx
02-12-09, 06:55 PM
Wow, this is looking real cool. The turn table's turning out really great. :tu:
Also for the problem..it could be some face normal were facing inward (maybe)? Hm....odd issue.

She looks great! I hope you can get it sorted out in time!
The turntable is great! About the exploding mesh: I sometimes encounter a problem like that when retopologizing a mesh: it's always the same problem: upon closer inspection of the zsphere chains of the retopo I always find a misconnected zsphere that causes the explosion when making the adaptive skin. (sometimes it's just one misconnection that makes the entire mesh explode). But in this case, I don't now if its a similar problem.
Anyways, good luck, hope you solve it! :tu: !

I just divided the mesh with the smt-button turned off... and then I sculpted a litte bit with the clay brush (low intensity).
I leave you with one last sloppy screenshot. :p
Iīll try to learn how to get a more or less good rendered image now...:)
There are still a few hours left hehe..;)
