Thank you, man. Glad you like my little Chip. Good luck to you too :) Your piece's extremely fine.
gregoconn:
Thank you man.I just gave some spec to the blood around his raptorial blade and to the blood stain on the rock. Will refine some more tomorrow as well.
jp_smith:
Hey there jp_smith....(This is Chip speaking :D) I'm going to add some texture to him tomorrow (if I have time that is) Man, I wish to have an extra week or so..to do something I was thinking to add. I love this contest...as I now have such a cool friend like you. Thank you buddy through out the course of the contest. :)
Nattawat_OBBI:
Thank you krub :) Glad you like it..Tomorrow I'll refine for the last time and finish off :)
Trurl:
Thank you so much.
Hamilcar:
Thank you for your kind words... I think if I have an extra day I'd still be able to add things here and there...it never ends with ZBrush fun :)
spimmy:
Thank you so much.
jempix:
Thank you..yeah it's kind of a work around...wish to have a full transparency support though..that would be cool.
Finners:
Thank you...chip really appreciates your kindness.
Captain Sensible:
Hahahah a Chip spin off....you will see him fight other bugs... :) Thank you for your kindness.
Drakelot:
Thanks man. I've another test turn table coming before my finalization tomorrow. Whew...
 Daily (Night) Update:
Very minute update here as I got home so late...Today I spent time adding some small battle scars but not too much as his ability is strong exoskeleton skin and the ability to heal/regenerate. Also I add some more specular to the blood..so now it should shine when it gets turned.
progress_114.jpg (javascript:zb_insimg('127725','progress_114.jpg', 1,0))
and here's the turn table with the extreme transparency setting (Need to tone down a bit)

 Daily Pondering:
Today's the last day of the contest. and I'm watching my clock to get back and do some final tuning... Man I can't believe it's the last day already.... One thing I want to get it out of my chest is that I'm very happy I decided to join the contest despite my hectic schedule of working 2 places, crazy client projects, and routine daily hospital visit. Throughout the contest...I've found out one thing.....this place is such a warm sanctuary for both amateur artists and professionals. Really great community....with great population. :)
Your work is going to be very inspiration for many days to come.
Great getting to know you and thanks for SO MANY comments on my pages!!!

My life so far after the contest:
The contest was real fun and great experience. After the contest, my work starts to get real busy..and I ended up visiting filming set quite often. Like I've stated before I'm very fortunate to work with Prince Chatri, our director in recreating parts of Thai history.
heads.jpg (javascript:zb_insimg('131204','heads.jpg',1,0))
Our director has an Art department that can do sculpting and such and for me taking care of the CG department.
group.jpg (javascript:zb_insimg('131205','group.jpg',1,0))
We've been getting great helps from Richard Taylor at Weta Workshop who introduced us to David Bawel (in picture Brown Polo shirt with Sun glasses), the motion capture expert who's worked in Matrix trilogy and LOTR. He's here in Thailand to help us forming Motion Capture team. In addition, Stephen Regelous, (in picture far right, next to me) is also very genrous and is helping us get off the ground with Massive crowd generation and simulation software.
baot.jpg (javascript:zb_insimg('131206','baot.jpg',1,0))
That's why I've been qutie busy for the past week and will continue to be busy so for awhile. I'll however, keep ZBrushing and post as much as I could. :)

Sweet results, man. Hope those references I posted way back when were of some use instead of just hogging up connection upload. The end result is really nice and keeps a good mantid AND humanoid feel, I believe.
Man, I'm looking forward to getting and learning zBrush in the future. :)
Arthropods have always been my thing, personally. I'll be looking out for any other arthropod related work you do in the future, so long as I have the means. :D
Keep on zbrushing.
EDIT: Saw the above post. Great that you got some Weta guys with you. That'll really work out your inspiration eh? Hope your project goes well and "have fun." :)
Also, can I has the Mantis base mesh .obj for a souveneir? :p

Thank you so much Lucky_1. The contest was sure very fun!

Thank you bryzol. The movie's more of historical/period type.....so Mantisman might not be able to show his appearance...hehehe But he will lurk the dark streets and try to help good people, nonetheless. :)

Congrats on the print. You landed right where you wanted if I remember correctly.
Perhaps the reason the judges didn't give you first was because they didn't take too kindly to Mantis Man himself paying them a visit. :p
We should have Mantis Man face off against Dr. Root. That'd be awesome.
Who wins? The tree or the creature that takes its shelter within its leaves?
EDIT: More importantly though, thanks for the resources you provided the community. I'm sure it will come in handy in the near AND distant future. Even these small things like patterns and big ones like retopology are wonders for people like me, and can inspire for years to come.
