Action Hero Entry, By Morozov Alexay (LeXuSMalus)

OK. I take part in a contest.
in the previous contest, i was not able to participate (work). Of course now also work, but I hope to complete now.

Name :

NewBornHero

introduction:

Oh yes, indeed, super heroes among us! you do not believe it? but We often meet them, in the street, some of them even at home. With me lives one of them. This is my little son. Every day he makes different feats, Solves difficult riddles, and even invents. His speed, both physical and intellectual simply amazes. He became a prototype of my idea.

History:

Perhaps his parents also super heroes and he acquired by inheritance their power. Perhaps, in any case, they it's not recognized. Perhaps they guard him. But he nevertheless has faced this power. He constantly opened in himself all new and new possibilities. In the beginning he has learnt to move things. It was not difficult. just need to take them from one place and put to another. Then he learned to operate the people around him. They obeyed him and do all his wishes. To do it, it was necessary to start to publish loud monotonous sounds. Maybe this is hypnosis or how it is... Gradually, he opened them more and more.
At night when all slept, he got out of his bed and fight with evil in all its manifestations (or fight with parents dreams, how it will turn). One of these days he defeated mad Santa, who made up his mind to keep the children's toys. The NewBornHero has make his best-known touch - "Psychoblow". this skill can return on a just way all criminals.
And now he should fight with monsters, which get out at night of the daddy's monitor and hide in a case. And for this purpose it is necessary to study a new power-combination.

Skills:

1. telekinesis: the movement of objects from one place to another and follow their loss.
2. Hypnosis: operate the people by sound, is more exact by set of sounds.
3. Psychoblow: a blow to the head the thick book with Freud's works. After that blow even the most evil psychopaths become a normal people.
4. Tear gas: sorry, it was accident.
5. Power-combination: combination from 5 steps.
6. etc. not opened yet, but them it is so much.

weakness:

Each super hero has a weak spot. At the NewBornHero it is a dummy.

I like the last picture the best.
Great backstory, especially about the monsters that get out at night...

Very cute concept!

Are you going to be using your own son as reference for the sclupt...

love the colored sketches..

tear gas..... good idea

heh baby super hero is a concept I find unique...:D

I really like the concept of New Born Hero, but the powers you are listing seems to be quite hard to show them visually. But it'd be great to see how this hero comes about. Would love to see how you'd put the character into the fighting pose.

JUPITER

Are you doing a mesh of the dog also?..look's good nice color use

LeXuSMalus
12-23-08, 07:06 AM
2 dismantled: Yes, the hero will be the most like my son.

2 SolidSnakexxx: I have not yet chosen a pose would be final. more inclined to hit on the head, but I do the others pose to.

2 JUPITER: If the final pose will be "combination from 5 steps", the dog will necessarily :)

2 All: At this stage, I choose References, photographing my son. photos will be soon.

Now, I created a little hand
it has not yet been made, but it has something to show.

wip_04v.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:zb_insimg%28%27120097%27,%27wip_04v.jpg%27,1, 0%29)

01-03-09, 12:13 PM
Oh....I like those chubby fingers...Seems like the index finger (2nd phalanx) got a bit too chubby and the fat's dripping. too much Other than that...very cool baby hand :tu:

LeXuSMalus
01-03-09, 12:38 PM
2 SolidSnakexxx:

geometry will have to change when I'll do transpose.

dismantled
01-03-09, 02:55 PM
those baby parts are looking fantastic.. also good skin color/texture.. the head is impressive.. and the way you present it.... is cool....

the baby hand is fine... maybe it has some hanging fat on that one finger .. but it looks realistic...

I guess the only thing i am wondering about it is the other parts... such as clothes... and the over all figure... I guess I'd just like to see the whole sculpture at lease in rough from ... like just a base...

Now I think on some parts of cloth

LeXuSMalus
01-04-09, 11:54 AM
I think I need to add something that would move away from everyday life, and make my hero is more mysterious.
How about a cap? :)

wip_06v.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:zb_insimg%28%27120215%27,%27wip_06v.jpg%27,1, 0%29)

This one cracks me up. Very well done...look forward to watching it progress.

How about a super pacifier?!

I like her bunny outfit... Looking very cool

DAnconia
01-04-09, 07:06 PM
How about glowing eyes? Radiant Skin. Veins. Exaggerating some features like a caricature. A carrot. Pointy ears. mask over the eyes? Just some crazy thoughts. It was not meant for all of them to be used.

I like this one. The hand sculpts are very inspiring.

dismantled
01-04-09, 07:19 PM
good to see more of the whole picture.. I like your realistic approach.. the character is clearer now..

the bunny ears remind me of a boy character from the movie Gummo.. (google that)..

I don't think you have to bring the hat down over the eyes..but do probably add some thickness to where it attaches to the head..

LeXuSMalus
01-05-09, 05:50 AM
2 SolidSnakexxx: thnx :)

2 DAnconia: I would like to do more verisimilar hero, no lasers from the nose :)

the hero as he really is in our lives.

2 dismantled: a cap is bound to be thick, and even the rope that would be betterhanging on the head.

2 SolidSnakexxx: thank you very much. I have an idea of implementing a plug-in, which will make the fur in ZB, I hope that after the contest I will be time and strength for its implementation.

2 jp_smith: thnx, about light in zbrush read below :)

2 Moni-Poroni: Big thnx. I was very flattered :)

Little Tips&Tricks:
in render in ZB great place to hold matcap materials, Light is the least serious position. matcap materials already contain a light. Light need only to create a shadow in the right place

this is my material that I use in this scene.

wip_25v.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:zb_insimg%28%27123902%27,%27wip_25v.jpg%27,1, 0%29)

very important, took a detailed texturing.

always a good idea to draw in not only the texture of the color, but some interaction with the environment, for example ambient oclusion.

nise detail on the sculpting is important to. good details provides a good opportunity to generate good shadows

in my scene is only one source of light with soft blured shadows

wip_26v.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:zb_insimg%28%27123906%27,%27wip_26v.jpg%27,1, 0%29)

Also do not forget about Z: fog, depth cue, little color corections

;)

SolidSnakexxx

01-23-09, 01:00 AM
you use MAT CAP materials? isnīt it so that this materials does not work with light setts? do you render the shadows and the materials separately? and then merge in Photo shop?
nice work :tu:

LeXuSMalus
01-23-09, 01:11 AM
2 SolidSnakexxx, jp_smith: it's just part of my job :) , the teacher ;)

2 pitchepuck: There is no merge in Photoshop, I render it separately just to show how the color looks alone, the details and shadows.

This is one of the most beautiful images I have ever seen produced in ZBrush. The details are just exquisite, and the render looks like it could have been done using mentalray.

Fantastic work, best of luck with this entry :tu:

Quick question... What do you use to get that cool look with the eyes where it's always looks like it's staring directly at you? Is it a matcap applied to the eye?
