Hello. I thought by now I would have started a work in progress thread of my own. Simply not enough time in my day, but I have been lucky to be extremely occupied with work.
This thread will be my foray into this exceptionally talented community. It is impossible not to learn from such a group.
Here we go!
THE PACKAGE - Bio
Steve Johnson, Courier driver by day, male exotic dancer by night exists no more. In his place emerges the awesome, gyrating power known simply as "The Package".
During the course of his normal delivery routine one fateful day in July of 2007, Steve had aquired a parcel of which the contents were not properly disclosed in the bill of lading. A sleeper cell of religous zealots was attempting to smuggle a next generation power plant out of the country to utilize in their doomday machine. Government intelligence agencies had become aware of this and engaged in an all out search for the package. Soon they were hot on the tail of our terrifed delivery driver. Not knowing the identity of his pursuers Steve drove with all the skill of a courier driver in an attempt to lose them. In the events that unfolded, Steve lost control of the vehicle and plunged into a ravine where upon impact the secret contents imbeded itself into his body. By the time salvage operations could be organized the driver and the power source had disappeard. Some how the energy source was keeping the sore and confused delivery driver alive. In time Steve was able to find the creator of the device, who had been double crossed by the same government agency. Together they were better able to integrate the power source with Steve. Realizing that there was potential to help protect other innocents from such sinister organizations, the Doctor and Steve fashioned a beam weapon which is controlled by Steve's thoughts. As Steve was not gifted in the martial arts or other combat styles he draws upon his dance training an his once signature move, the pelvic thrust, to defeat his enemies.

Hey, I never said I was a writer. I hope you can either laugh at the concept or at me in my attempt to bring it to a finish.
Regards, James.

he draws upon his dance training an his once signature move, the pelvic thrust, to defeat his enemies.OMG, that had me rolling!
You DO know what the "action pose" for this character should be, don't you? The only question will be what arm position you give him, and whether you include a g-string with some dollar bills sticking out of it...lololol!
What a GREAT imagination you have to come up with "The Package..." It will definitely test your anatomy and musculature skills, since good dancers are pretty "yummy" looking for their female audience...
SO glad you joined us in this insanity. I think you will enjoy it far more than a personal WIP thread for the next few weeks!

Yeah, that's one for the anatomy expert! It may have limited moves but you can surely make it very effective. You'll have fun with this one.

Can't wait to see the action pose!
The package that's funny man, its great to have some humorous entries.
I'd say so far, you have the Hilarity Vote. This should be interesting. Fabio comes to mind.
Don't forget the Naked Cowboy...

Between the Transpose .mov and the Codpiece of Justice, with the exotic dancer backstory, this will be the entry to beat...

I seethe with jealousy that I didn't think of this first. I think you should win the "best name" award.
I'd really like to see a battle between "Duff-man" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_celebrities_in_The_Simpsons#Duffman) and "The Package", where they can have dueling pelvic thrusts.
dude! where do you guys get your ideas? I cant stop laughing!
hehe how nice xD good luck to make it look seriouse
less talk more package! where is he at

Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season. Certainly looks like some of you have had productive holidays.
First off: Thanks to all those who have taken a peek, had a laugh, and left a comment.
Second: I have updated with a quick refined concept. See edit.
Now back to work. I think it is time to move ahead with the mesh and further refine the concept as I go. There are still a few things with 'costume' details that I am not satisfied with. I think the pose is more or less what I am aiming for. Any ways please feel free to comment or criticize.
I think I should take a look at the plethora of other entries before I return to my own.
Regards, James.

Why must work always interfere with the activitys we enjoy in life?
I have spent more time picking my jaw of the floor than working on my own entry. The work in this contest is stunning.
I am starting to wish I had more skill to bring my concept to completion. I will keep plugging away. You cant learn buy staying in the shadows.
Here is the roughed out head starting from a typical zsphere layout. I have roughed in the "big hair" ala Patrick Swayze which I am thinking of using. I am currently retopologizing the mesh to get better flow before detailing.

Here is the hair inspiration.

I've been waiting for the update on this one. My fav fun hero...and again can't wait for the pelvis trust :) The head shape's coming along nicely. The hair ref..would make him look even more...hilarious
Look forward for the next update.
Please note that the rules require that your entry be updated at least once per week. If no updates have been made on this entry within the next 48 hours I'm going to have to disqualify it.

Here is a quick update to keep my head above water.
I have detailed the head a little more and generated a basic body form which I will now begin to flesh out.

Cheers to everyone.
Seeing as it is my first foray into this community and I am still learning this program I am choosing to take a 'mulligan' or 'do-over' and start anew.
I think I am leading myself toward a dead end by doing the head and body as separate objects. I am sure there is a workaround, it just feels wrong though.
I got a copy of Scott Spencer's, "ZBrush Character Creation" and I am finding very good.
Taking a whole figure approach. Have started blocking out the form with a zsphere model applying the technique from the book. Please be patient. I really want to finish this entry.

Question: What programs are people using to capture your transpose sessions?
Again to everyone, the work posted here continues to inspire me on a daily basis.

Hello there. Really great progress :) I assume you are on pc.,..if so, all you have to do is...before starting your ZSession, you simply go to Movie > Record....and then go about sculpting your model/transposing. Once done, simply go to Movie > Pause then the recording process's stopped. From that point you can go to Movie > Export and save the movie out as a Quikctime movie. Let me know if you have any problems doing the process. :)

Holy! This program requires practice. With the little I had this past week I messed around with transpose. Here is the result.

Not happy with the results as of yet. Hope for more time this coming week.
Again, you guys continue to show what results can come with continued use...and alot of talent.

Love your concept and background story. Keep up the good work. Practice makes a good sculpt, and you are doing just fine (I wish my sculpts looked as good when I first started. Breathe, good luck and happy zbrushing. :D
 p.s. just a suggestion (not a crit) tilt his head up a bit more so that he is looking at whom ever he is shooting at, and thrust his hips out just a tad bit more. Like I said just my opinion.

Threetails, Seavannah: Words of encouragement are always appreciated when one is experiencing growth pains. Seavannah, crits are always welcome, thank you for taking the time.
I certainly move at a snails pace, but alas this is only a hobby and does not get alot of my time.
Zbrush is truly a wonderful program and I believe this is a good way for me to put in a little time each week to learn it. So please dont feel I am putting in a mediocre attempt, it is simply all I have time for these days.
Thanks as always to the stunning entries for the inspiration.
Regards, James.
