I was scounging around for some inspiration in some old fashion mags when I came acros a couple of 'herion sheek' style shoots, I hadn't seen much of this before and I was pretty grossed out by it, the men and woomen in these pictures were not only gross looking, but they were completly vacant, seemed to be lacking a soul, anywhose, I was trying to cature the lack of humanity in these models with these pics

this is the z brush version

Got a couple of email about this so I decided to do a bit of a mini tutorial on the texturing process, I tried to keep it open and tried not to exclude the demo owners.

Hi Hitch2
Very enlighting post !
Secrets of fabrication are very clear !
I think you can make the same "adjustment" under Photoshop in Zbrush with the Menu "Render"/"Adjustments" :)
but you have certainly try :)

Ps What is a "herion sheek" ? I haven't it in my dictionnary :(
Is your face complete ? It's a close up or your definitive version ?

Great tutorial. Thanks.

Frenchy: The spelling was probably supposed to be "Heroin Sheik", usually pronounced "sheek". Do you know the phrase 'tres sheik'? Sheik in this context means a man who is much concerned with his dress and appearance [syn: dandy, dude, fop, gallant, beau, swell, fashion plate, clotheshorse], OR a romantically alluring man, OR in America, it is often used to mean that the clothes you have on are very fashionable. (NOT an Arabic clan leader or magistrate.) I assume Heroin Sheik refers to the style of fashion magazine pictures where the models look like advanced heroin addicts. (Are not many of them heroin addicts in fact?)

Very cool, and I do believe you achieved what you wanted to in this one. Very nice run down on the step by step too! :tu:

Thx Jay for the translation.
"tres sheik" = "tres chic" in french :) with the same translation of "very fashionable" smartness, stylishness :)
I have also suppose that mean "stuppefied" by the "heroïne" (drug) because the face seems "shooted" "stoned" :)

Disturbing inspiration and nicely executed!

Frenchy: Yes.

I KNEW there was another spelling (chic), but when I started looking it up on the internet, there were a lot of references to 'sheik', and the dictionaries actually had the above definitions under 'sheik', so I stopped looking. Yes, the 'more correct' spelling, even in the U.S., is 'chic', especially if the term is 'tres chic', since that is French, and 'sheik' is NOT French. And 'heroin chic' is probably the more correct spelling as well. Above, I mixed the two definitions together, but 'chic' means fashionable, etc. and 'sheik' has a secondary English definition of a 'dandy' OR 'romantically alluring man'. Thanks.
