:) hello!I've called this pict Hamlet, as I model first a caricature of danish dog, and at the end, find funny to texture it with a photo of my dog, a good old french griffon, everything except aristocratic! ok, i keep the title, anyway; i use three 3dspheres, and dble render on the head, one for the red in the shadow, one for the green... http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1034589634krh.jpg

Ps Your tablette graphique Cintiq est ce petit bijou 15 pouces ou l'on dessine à même l'écran comme sur un feuille de papier ?
Ou l'on dessine directement "dans Zbrush"?
d'où économie de moniteur classique ?
Is your graphic tablet Cintiq this "incredible thing" 15 inch where drawing on the screen like a paper sheet? Where directly drawing "in Zbrush"? And don't need classic monitor ?
Happy Illustrator of the third millennium :)
Who knows what Leonard should make with it :)

yes fp, you draw directly on the screen... let me add that a friend, long time professional illustrator in 3d, told me that one week on a classic intuos, and i been able to draw without seing my hand; maybe he's right, now it's too late with the addict cintiq, for me to know... amitiés M.

Oh he looks aristocratic ;)

Well done image Marcel - I see you do multiple renders in ZB and compose in photoshop the parts you want?

And i had a look on that cintiq - looks marvelous on the paper - and from your paintings i believe it works well too.
Questions here: Is the placement of the cursor very precise? You see i only know the common touchpanels and they always seem to have a very messy setup where the cursors pops 3-4cm away from the point you intended to hit.

The cintix are really expensive as i see it - which size are you using and what price range is that, if i may ask?

Great picture and cute doggy :tu:

Is the Cintiq worth the money? Do you have the 15" or 18" version? I know that I will have this type of device someday, but I may wait for a version that costs less than $1000! :) My high quality 21" CRT monitor only cost me $650 new!

I know that regular touchscreens are not meant for graphic applications, and are very low resolution, even compared to a cheap mouse. They generally only cost no more than a few hundred added to the cost of the monitor itself. When creating applicatons for these types of touchscreens, I have to make the buttons twice their normal size, and set the Windows system fonts to a larger size so that everything will be bigger. Otherwise, it is very difficult to use the interface with a touchscreen. In one part of the screen, the cursor may be right under the finger, and in another part of the screen, the cursor may be 6mm off.

Cintiq on the other hand has 1024 lines per inch resolution, which would seem to make it impossible that your pen would be noticeably 'off'. Any error would be too small to see. It may also use a different technology than the 'cheap' touchscreens. BUT, I've never used a Cintiq: I would also like for Marcel to give us an idea of how well the Cintiq works. :)

:)hello nemo and jaycephus; i think the cintiq is keeping the"brushstroke" very well, i join a pict 2d made when i buy it, and as you see the painting "process" is very well keeped... I 've said above that i have friends here, really achieving thezsame type of work, on classic intuos...(i have'nt any financial interest in wacom, alas) Friendly M. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1034616967ltj.jpg

" i dont understand the consecuences from this render situation (i'm really new here) If possible to you explain what it mind?
Thanks very much

Hi andreseloy,

Go to this "aladin" thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=008360) for Marcel's explanation with another image. Quite ingenious.

Best,
Logicat
