View Full Version : Why not have the whole canvas as a hologram?
Meaning that you could translate the pixols on the surface based on previous history and change the perspective or angle of the image. This would give real depth, which we don't necessarily need to restrict for polygons or ZSpheres.
I think the reason is just that our computers aren't that good. It'd take a huge file, and probably we'd lose our real time. Other programs, of course, can rotate the scene, so why can't we? The thing here is that other programs have only pure 3D, but we paint on our objects with 1.5d brushes. With the displacement feature, Pixologic will again move toward bridging the gap between 3D models and 2.5D. Eventually, we may well see the full rotation of a scene, but I suspect that may take a while. (Unless Pixologic proves me totaly wrong in 3.0 by pulling a rabit out of the 3DCube (Magic box). :D
