I'm trying to figure out how to use zcut with multimarking but can't get it to work - when I make a polymesh the second object is added to, and not cut from, the first object. I am following the manual but must be missing something.

As an example:

-I turn on Marker>Draw

-Draw a sphere and mark it

-Turn on zcut

-Draw a cube and mark it

-Clear the canvas (Ctrl-N)

-Use the Multimarker tool to draw and edit the following tool:

I then use Tool>Modifiers>Make polymesh but when I select the new polymesh tool and draw it it looks like this:

Many thanks for any help

:( This is a weakness of ZBrush. You just can't do it. There are some ways to hide polygons, or to cut through 2.5D 'objects', but true Boolean 'subtraction' modeling is not possible. Yet.

Ahah, thanks for the info. I'll have to apologise to my computer for being so 'rugged' with it while trying to do this :D

Some of the wording and images in the manual really make it look and sound like boolean modelling is possible with zcut (especially "However, when working with 3D objects, you should generally use ZCut for
subtraction operations" and "With ZCut, however, only pixels within the volume of the 3D object are removed").

I guess I'm a little confused now about what exactly zcut is used for and when it should be used, but hoping this will come right with time :)
