I was looking at the top image inthis thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=006270), and I want to know what material was used to get the translucent effect. It looks fabulous!

Thanks! I hope there's some more documentation on GI soon.

BTW, EZ, was that image you linked yours or somebody else's? Whoever's it is, it's good.

I don't know what material was used either, but can safely say a few things:

1) It can only be done in 1.51
2) It's probably a modification of a material that is new in 1.51 (there are several)
3) Material and Global Shadows work hand in hand. This material most likely has a heavily modified Diffuse Curve, and the render was certainly done with quite a few rays in the Light>Modifiers>Shadows settings.
