I know that the lighting in my stuff still doesnt come thru on the viewers end...and I have been told to calibrate my monitor...my question is how do I go about that? Is there a thread on it? I feel like a school kid again... :o
This should help.

Just utilize this link along with the toggle buttons on the front of your monitor (or maybe under the screen, they are all different) Mine are buttons on the face of my monitor directly under the screen.
Whoops!
You'll need this page for brightness/contrast.

thnx Kathy...see my stuff really looks bright enough on my end....and I found out very recently when I was on another computer that stuff was way dark...
Thanks for the link Kathy! My moniter was much too bright... :)
Welcome! :D
It is also helpful to work with no overhead lights, or lights directed from behind. (I work in a darkened room myself when I'm texturing or painting)
You can also get a monitor hood to "box in" your screen to keep reflected light from affecting your visuals.
If your computer is in a room with painted walls of "color", that too affects your visual judgement.
