Is it possible to have the same amount of functionality as Zapplink with respective 3d software. As in a obj or dwf auto import upon external save/overwrite feature?

The problem with OBJ/DXF is that they aren't native file formats in the way a PSD file is. So it's less straightfoward but it's possible, provided the necessary functionality is added thru a DLL.
