Well, after some further work, she now looks like this-

Everything is ZBrush, and an on-going wip. 121 welcome :)

Wow! I like this picture. She has
a cool transport board. I was remembering
the happy days when I was skateboarding
with friends ten years ago...great time!
What technique did you use to model the
knee and shoulder guards?
I interested to know as they have defined
curvature and bumps. It would be great
to use such style for some anime-like
character!

The modelling is so FanTasTic!!!! Very well done Grub!

Very Coooool work ,bud !Commin along beautifully.
121 suggestions :

The hands are posed better in the first image.
Seems to be to much of a contrast between the smoothness of the figure and the heavy textured pads.

Hope it's of some help, buddy.I know it'll be wicked when it's finished ! ;)

Steve.

Excellent level of detail... just amazing :)

If I can say so without sounding like a git... the front of the board's unsmoothed surface seems to work against the rest of the work's smooth look. I'm sure you realised this, but... just thought to mention :D

My favorite babe is back!! Mmmm.... nice Grubster!! I have to agree with Ztevie...I like the pose of the hands in the original. :tu: :tu: :tu:

Bas76-
Hi and thanks, skating's all the rage again now, get that board out... :D About the pads- I used the standard sphere, which I quartered, and then sculpted the ridges. :tu:

filament9-
Thanks a lot, I appreciate your kind words. :) :tu:

ztevie-rae-
Thanks bud, I'll switch back to the original hands. :D The second pair are actually better made, but they're not that expressive... Maybe I'll use 'em for something else. Good point on the pads, I'll do some more experimenting with her overall look. Cheers. :tu:

Reactor-
No worries, Reactor. :tu: I'll be dividing the board some more, it's a bit lo-res. Thanks very much. :)

Mentat7-
Hey M7 bud, thanks for the compliment. :D There's (just) room on that board for you and your fave... :o :tu:

Mahlikus The Black-
Cheers, that's OK. :) It'll be the first hands fer sure- 'If it ain't broke don't fix it...' :D

ADAM-

Straight out of a comic book!
Looks great... could be the beginnings of a cover for a game box too!
Very clean!
Awesome work Rob, as always!
Take care,
Michael

Wow, really a clean, fresh, inspiring look. And some really good modelling. :)

I like the choice of colors, I think it matches perfectly for this tone and those pads are the icing on the cake. Great job :)

Hi Grub
Maybe some steam and shadow on the background ?
An orange yellow color for the light ?
If it's an entiere model, why not make an image with many vehicles & their drivers? :)
In any case great work

She's come a long way Baby! (old 70's slogan for those too young to remember it. ;) ).
Excellent work Grub! The details in her outfit and board are mind boggling. She is so finely modelled that at first glance one might mistake her for a Poser model, but I remember in her infancy as a Zsphere figure. I'm amazed at how
much she has grown. Very inspiring work! :tu: :tu:

Fantastic work again Rob, you most definitly have an incredible skill with polygon modelling. I must confess after conventional modelling, I still find mesh modelling a bit like trying sculpt a bedsheet. :) :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Here's some replies for you, from where we left off...

PusGhetty- Thanks, Michael- I was going for a kind of comic sort of look, and later I'll be adding more scene elements in keeping with this style. :)

Gummie- Thanks! I tried out a few different colour schemes until I settled for the one above, but I am still experimenting. :tu:

Frenchy Pilou- Terrific suggestions - you must be a mind reader :D - my plans follow on similar lines. :)

Mik- Cheers Mik, about time I got back to working on this. :tu:

Northstarr- Thanks very much, hope I don't keep you waiting too long with further updates. :)

Zerobudget- Glad you like her, David. :tu:

Belleski- Hey thanks, I put a lot of time and effort into making her, and hopefully an original ZBrush model has the edge on a pregenerated poser figure. :)

Wenna- Thank you Wenna for your kind words. :)

DM- Dave, I think you've got a damn good handle on ZBrush modelling yourself, let's see some more of your stuff. :D

And here's the latest update on the Powerboarder, soon I'll be adding some scene stuff after I tweak her a bit more-

seems like I've been watching this one for a long time-you have quite the touch with modeling especially the delicate finer points-the hands, the face, her stance, her expression.Excellent work.
