I`ve been working on the most detailed human head I have done to date. I`ve decided to try and get more 100% ZBrush images done for my portfolio and although I have done a tonne of heads I never seem able to keep them human, the little beggers always evolve into Elves or Orcs or Gobbos...
Well this one stayed human (sort of, he nearly turned Minbari at one point) and made it all the way to a finished image without so much as a horn or a scale.
This is 100% ZBrush with no retouch in Photohop. The head is modelled out of a Sphere 3D at maxuimum resolution. The depth of field and blur worked like a dream for me. The background is a 3500x3000 Flat material painting in itself and painted entirely with one alpha brush!. I resized it down to 2000x2000 for use in this image. The highlight in his eye wasn`t strong enough so I re-imported the final render and added his star highlight.

love the way those blue highlights on the skin play off against the orange background.
Painterly and and truly wonderful.

Not a human I'd like to run into in a dark alley... or anywhere else for that matter ~L~ but damn awesome model.
The wrinkles around the eyes are incredible. Stunning work, absolutely your best ever!

i never really thought about the fact that you don't do many humans, glen. but when you do, their as increadibly awesome as all your other art. this is a really cool character with that star logo in his forhead. i love the background the coloring around his eyes makes him look really freaky. great work...thanks for sharing it with us.

Superfine skin tones and texture Glen!

That Alpha on the forehead gave me a start, since when you posted your Alpha Manager, this brush fulfilled a need I had for detailing in my Troll Hall perfectly...! http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1012507999wsx.jpg
Thanks for a very well-executed image, and the great tools and info you provide consistently! :tu:

Wonderfull work as always Glen! That skin is superb...the lighting and coloring make it look metallic in a gothic horror kind of way. Oh man and that "You don't know sh*t about what is really going on." look that he is giving us!!! Typical Techno-Mage mentality! Well done!
As a huge B5 fan, I would have been happy with the Minbari, too. But I have to say that the technomages were always my favorite characters, and I was so disappointed that they were never seen again except for the (short lived) Crusade.
Great work here, Glen! That background is stunning, too. Clever idea, painting it large as a separate painting.

Southern I just have one question...um..err..where o where do you ever find the time to do all of those projects? :)
Very nice... eerrmm... Very evil head ;)
Super job on this! He reminds me of a Guildman... "We represent the entire Guild in this matter!" The detail and modeling and everying, and everything else, all are great. :tu:
